Funny thing about that dog... When Sam and i were chatting last week, we were both watching this. Just before it happened, my supervisor came in and I asked him if he'd ever seen agility trials. he said no and I told him to come over and see. He was there to watch this dog! He thought it was part of the trials at first!!! I like how the trainer took it all in stride. She's a class act! Vance |
hilarious but so sad The poor owner and dog must have worked so hard for this and the 2nd from last obstacle it poops!!! I think they should have been allowed to start again, when you gotta go you gotta go. Wrongly disqualified |
If the dog had continued correctly through the weaves, why stop? Granted he stepped off to the side, "refusing" but imagine if he had finished and continued on through the rest of the course! OK, time lost for "personal business." |
The conformation ring is the only place I know where taking a poop or pee is not frowned upon...and that means even in my house! In any obedience, rally, agility it's an immediate DQ. Even cause for failure in a Canine Good Citizen test or therapy dog test too. Weight pulls too - fouling the chute is a DQ....pee, poop or vomit. Now in dog sledding they can - but then they are putting in LOTS of time and many learn to poop on the run. Chewie even did a small poop on the run last week out carting. I stopped the team after the first little turd appeared, but he was all "no, no, keep going!" mode, so we continued on...he pooped later, out of harness. Major work ethic going on here |
I remember the announcers stating that prior to the evacuation that this guy was on track to beat the current first place dog by about a second or two. That's what really sucks. And if they all lived in Sam's world, (a much nicer place I'll bet) he would have totally smoked every other dog being about 2 pounds lighter! Vance |
Yeah, probably counts as a "hesitation" Chewie......what a work ethic!! |
Wow they were doing so well! All the work they have done, so sad. Yes kudos to the trainer! She took it in stride. |
oops! Too bad- |
When you've gotta go........... |
