Doggles?

So, the 3 inches of snow we had yesterday melted completely in the 60-degree weather we had today, and we decided to take Benson on her first top-down ride in the Jeep. She had a blast! This should be the first of many such rides.

It occurs to me, though, that she might benefit from doggles. Anybody have opinions or experience with doggles? Did your guys take to them easily?

Yes, the Jeep is very dirty. We had a choice - car wash or joy ride. Joy ride won out! :clappurple:

Oh, my! I can only imagine the way she looked at 60 m/h :D Awesome fun!
I bet that was a lot of fun! :D

Yup, Doggles are cool and Kaytee eventually grew into hers. I thought we might need to protect her from poking an eye out as she learned her surroundings (low vision/blind at times) but we found they weren't needed. Though we will revisit them again, maybe the blue mesh ones, this summer. The sun blinds her completely due to a cataract in her remaining eye. http://doggles.com/eyewear.html

Thinking Doggles would offer some eye protection beyond UV rays. Two other things to be careful of...
Bugs up the nose at a high rate of speed and jumping from a moving vehicle. http://www.whitneysvet.com/careHandouts/summerCare.html Honest... I'm not the fun police. Have fun but reduce the risks when possible!

Hadn't thought about the bugs. I'm not sure there's a solution for that (except no rides - yeah, right! ) As for jumping out, we've always had seatbelts for our furbabies, and they've done very well with them. Benson actually has a pretty slick set-up in the bed of the Jeep (see http://forum.oes.org/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=35947&hilit=+harness for some pics), and she was at the very end of her harness in that picture. I won't tempt fate and say it's impossible for her to get loose - I've seen plenty of dogs do "impossible" things - but she'd basically have to either break all the welded attachment points on the floor of the Jeep, or snap the harness itself (rated at 2,000 lbs of force).

Or grow opposable thumbs. :lmt:

I think you've got it covered!
Tilly use her when she goes driving

Tilly looks awesome! I can't stop smiling at the picture. So, does Tilly leave these on during the ride, or try to rub them off? I'm wondering if Bentley could benefit from some doggles!

She leave her on during the ride, but a soon she step out of the car, she try to take them off, she is a brat !!! :D :D

:wag:
We like them. Madison is the first one I've had that really wanted to ride with her head in the wind. It scares me, so I don't let her do it often - only when we're heading to the place where we walk, as it isn't far and there is very little traffic.

But they seem to work well and she's not minded wearing them. And beleive me, if she did, I'd know it. This girl has an opinion about EVERYTHING.

Baley wears this kind. He doesn't hang his head out the window--but he does like these if we are out for an extended time on a sunny day. :D

Chewie has the exact same ones as Baley! :D
Like Ray Bans for cool dogs! 8) 8)
