Well, whatdoyaknow

At our agility class, they run two separate courses at the same time...meaning that "some" dog is always running

When we first started this, separating into two groups, I was concerned because Simon is very movement oriented, chases anything that moves.

A few weeks ago, as I was setting him up, he noticed a dog running and took off. I yelled "Simon, HERE!" as I was heading off after him.

He turned around and came back to me :excited: :excited: :yay: :yay: :phew:

One young man got lots of praise and treats for that :hearts: :hearts: :hearts:

Is he growing a brain?? I realize it takes awhile, but when it does, what a joy! Good boy Simon!!
Hooray!! Good boy!! :clappurple: :clappurple: :clappurple: :clappurple:
Good boy Simon! :clappurple:

Nice work, Simon! Told you it would come, and, yet, yeah, you have to see it to believe it.

The same kind of surprise I felt when I ran Ms I-Gotta-Say-Hi-To-Everybody Macy last month in a USDAA trial and they gave us the go ahead to start even though the ring crew was still finishing re-setting bars from the run before us. Coming around the first few obstacles out of the corner of my eye I saw a bar setter running for her life to get out of our way, literally crossing our path, and I thought, hm, wonder if Mace will feel compelled to run over and say hi, but I handled her as if the bar setter was not there and she stayed focused and ignored her.

It's such a good feeling when you start to realize you can trust your dog. :aww:  Where are you guys entered next?

Well, since Gar ate the paper that I wrote all the possible's on, along with dates that I couldn't, I haven't found the energy or taken the time to write it down again. I will...this weekend...I hope.

You?
Good boy Simon!!!!! :yay:

I felt the same way with Harry - except what was pulling his was the obstacles.

Apparently he didn't want you to go...?

I'm entered in USDAA again next weekend. Didn't get into WAG, something like 89th and 90th on the waiting list!

Did make it in to some AKC trial in IL the first Sunday in April. Only entered Sunday since the Chicagoland Specialty is the day before and I'm showing a friend's class bitch as she's heading back East with her special. Then...? I have to look and my calendar is at work. I was going to say definitely try to enter K-9. though, head's up, I think it's outside. Mid-May. Have to double check. It opens 3/19. I'm entering that for sure.

I'll let you know the rest on Monday. I often only enter one day if I have to drive more than 1 1/2 hours each way, usually in IL, means an even longer haul for you.

Cream City's AKC trial is in July at Think Pawsitive - put that one on your list. And why not try USDAA? There are many more of these trials within comfortable driving distance. Cream City has one in June at Think Pawsitive as well. There are a couple in Crystal Lake (IL) before that. He has to jump 22" instead of 20" (enter performance, or he'd have to jump 26") but it's not a big deal at 22" and you get more runs per day, which is a lot of fun.

Yay Simon!!! :cheer:
Good boy Simon! :clappurple: :clappurple:

I have been having the same issues getting into trials. I originally blame it on my work schedule coming out so late...but almost all are draws, so who's to say I would have got in anyway?!
I checked on the 2 this month with the trial secy's, and the one last weekend on the date of the draw had 110 entries on the waiting list for the day I wanted to enter! :cow:

So, we went to a CPE trial this past weekend and had a great time!
Other than the flu I had...it was good.....
