Happy 17th Birthday to Pearl Violet's kitty
 HAPPY 17TH BIRHDAY PEARL! purrr purrr Today is a very exciting birthday for Pearl and us. Last Friday we thought for sure that Pearl was heading to the Rainbow Bridge. She stopped eating, drinking, and all she did was lay and sleep. She had no interest in anything. So we felt, due to her age, we would keep her comforable at home and let her go when she was ready. I bought her a new soft blanket from Target that I folded and set up near the sliding door so she could look outside. Pearl loves the outdoors. I kept offering her food and drink and she took nothing. When Dawn posted about Simon, I thought for sure that was going to join Simon that day as well. Pearl layed quietly and rested as each of us stopped to pet her. Through out the week I kept trying to get her to drink some water and eventually she would take a little at a time...then she would take a teeny bit of turkey, so small it couldn't sustain a fly, but I felt progress. For most of the week she spent most of her time on the blankie.Each morning I woke up, checked on her expecting the worse. Midweek she got up and went outside for a few minutes. Going potty??? yes! I kept offering her small amounts of food every few hours and water. by Thursday she was eating hungrly. I started to increase the amount per feeding yesterday...Pearl is back to her full self. I can't believe that the cat I saw on her last life last weekend, is walking around and eating/drinking and pottying like nothing ever happened. I am so happy that, today on her Birthday and my Dad's(in memorium) we can celebrate. I really think Pearl has gone past her original 9 lives...must be so special and got a few extras!
