My daughter was in her bedroom and heard a phone "off the hook" (beeping sound) in the next door bathroom. She went in and turned it off and left in where it was (typical teenager won't put anything back ) and when she reached the hall, she heard the phone dialing numbers. She went back in and watched it for a while and yelled for me to come up. I was busy downstairs so she brought it down to the living room. If anyone has a logical explanation for what is on this video.... please share as we are getting a bit freaked out. |

So, that is kind of freaky... What was Millie barking at? And, I thought it was odd that as soon as she started barking, the phone went dead.... I'm curious what your other experiences have been! |
Maybe ET is phoning home... Vance |
Thats pretty cool... I would just say the phone has a minor faultage in it....but what was millie barking at????!!!!! you need to show a paranormal activity person to give you expert advice on that. Thanks for sharing it though. If youve lost someone close to you, i suppose logically it could be a spirit trying to contact you.. is the number being dialed your house phone number or just a random number, do you know it?? interesting to phone it back LOL how longs it gone on for??? id love something like that to happen to us! Exciting stuff Awesome video i have no answer though sorry x |
electrical fault within the phone......I would have questioned static from the rug....time to get a replacement. They will love the story of "a ghost" inside the phone....actually random electrical activity might not be far off. Could try resetting battery first....... |

Don't think it's static from the rug because it started happening on the coutertop in the bathroom. It is actually one of four cordless phones controlled by the same dock.....but was the only one "malfunctioning". I too have thought of electrical fault, but not sure about why the difference in fast dialing of 444445555888866 then 5.........4.........1...3.....6..6.........6 and sometimes turning the screen off and clearing all numbers only to start up again 10 minutes later. Not redialing any number or dialing a real number length such as a seven digit number. Just random numbers.....until my daughter mentioned "666" and it happily obliged. Immediately I stopped taping, ripped out the battery, threw that phone in the garage and consoled my kids. Vance wrote: Maybe ET is phoning home... Vance Hahaha. Good one! If the number is 666, you know who's calling. I'd throw it out too, but in SOMEBODY ELSE'S GARBAGE!!!!!! |

I'm curious what your other experiences have been! I will start with my experiences over the last two years in this house, or this post will be way too long. I can post about other houses if people would like to hear more, but in separate posts. Within the first month of living here I started hearing someone softly calling "mommy" as if from far away. When my children were home I would automatically assume they had called out to me and respond with "what?". They would look at me like I was crazy and say "what, what?........I didn't call you" I felt they may have been pulling my leg and wasn't overly concerned. Then it started happening while I was home alone.....this obviously bothered me, but I would tell myself "your just imagining it". Then after living here for about two months I went to tell my daughter goodnight and noticed something odd with the access to the attic in the ceiling outside her doorway. The cover was not lying flat as should be, but pushed up creating a large opening. I assumed my husband had been in there and forgot to put it back down. He looked at it and was immediately alarmed and said her had never been up there!!!!! He got a ladder and a bat to make sure no one was up there as an animal wouldn't have the ability to pick the cover up and lift it over the studs. No one was there and nothing was disturbed. A few weeks later my husband had just finished using the shop vac in our basement, turned it off and headed upstairs. He made it to the landing before it turned itself back on. He went back down and turned it off again, and it stayed off. About four months ago the kids and I were in our kitchen eating pizza at the island when we heard my car honk just once inside our closed garage. I went to go investigate and noticed the car had locked itself....I never lock it when I pull it in the garage, and my husband was out of town. As I was coming into the kitchen our range hood's fan turned itself on. We had only used the light on it up to that point because it was not yet vented to the outside. I pushed the power button and it would not turn off. I pushed all four fan speed buttons with no change in the fan speed, it would only stay on high and not turn off. After a couple of minutes I decided that I would cut it's power at the breaker in the basement. I could hear the fan all the way down there....it was LOUD!!! After looking at the chart and identifying the correct breaker I reached out to turn it off. My had was almost on the breaker when I heard it shut off. When I came back in the kitchen the kids said the fan just shut off, but the lights stayed on. We are all becoming nervous and a bit scared in our own home. We had a very thorough home inspection prior to buying this house and have even had a licensed electrician out to run a few extra outlets to certain rooms. There is nothing wrong with our electrical. Should I call a paranormal investigator.....or my church???? I don't want this to keep happening to my family. Nothing is hurting any of us......just kind scary. |

With all of that going on, I would want to know the history of the house and if it was newly built, info on the grounds. There actually ARE paranormal investigators and spiritual investigators. I had friends that had spirits follow them from one house to the other. I believe the thread was 'can dogs see ghosts'. I believe anything is possible. You aren't crazy. Yup, I'd call somebody. If other stuff has happened to you prior to moving to this house, than I would suggest that you are probably a very interesting person----connected somehow to the paranormal and it is following you bec/ you are the link. If this just started here at this new house, then I would also suggest getting the history of the house (is it a really old house?) and what kind of land it was built on...... I totally believe in paranormal activity....and I personally would really start to research things. There is a restaurant a few miles from my house that has documented a little girl there. My friend owns it and every so often, the little girl appears. There are books written about her. And, there are a lot of places in NJ with paranormal activity given that it is a very old state. |
Sounds like electrical to me. And even if it isn't why would you be scared? Nothing harmful has happened. If it were a ghost wouldn't it be a person just like you and me? No reason to go overboard, just think of it as another friend. Shellie |
Definitely electrical. Could be several things - bad battery, loose connection, some mild corrosion, or maybe even RF interference from a variety of sources. Phones are cheap enough that it's probably not worth repairing. Pitch it and get a new one. |

However.....it seems a bit too odd that after the first 6 dialed my daughter says "2 more and you got the devil", then 2 more 6's are dialed!!!!! Way to strange I think I need to call my priest for a house blessing. I'd rather be safe than sorry...... Not sure if a paranormal investigator would help or make the situation worse?????? |
I love paranormal things. I can easily say don't be scared, but I would think I would wet myself if it happened to me. My mom always told me if there was a way to come back she would. This might sound really stupid to some, but she sends me scents of flowers. It's something I noticed a week or so after she passed, and I still get them occassionally. I can mention more about that if anyone wants to hear. They say people that have crossed are attracted to certain people on this side. I would look up paranormal investigators in your area. I have been to some different places where hauntings have gone on. It's very interesting. Now I'm sure everyone on here thinks I'm nuts. Lisa Frankie and Mattie |

It dialed multiple 4s, multiple 5s, multiple 8s, which you all saw. So when you daughter saw the first 6, whether she said anything or not, chances are more 6s would show up. And sure enough, they did. If a priest's blessing will put you at ease, by all means, get the house blessed. You can also put vinegar-soaked cotton balls on all the windowsills, hang Rowan and St. John's Wort over your doors, and give everyone a lodestone amulet to carry. None of these will hurt, and they may even make you feel better. (And I'm offering these suggestions with all kindness and consideration. I promise I'm not trying to be a smarta$$) But it won't fix the phone. |
I think something more logical and I bet it is electrical. I know you said you had an electrician out to add more lines and a home inspector check the home previously. However if there are too many circuits or they are inadequately installed within the walls - the home inspector would never have seen the problem. At my previous home...things always went wonky...vaccuum turning on, lights going out and the dining room fan that never seemed to be able to be turned off...almost as hard as getting it to turn on in the first place. It was just a switch, so how hard could it be? Turned out (this is after 14 yrs of living in that house) and it was only discovered the last year I lived in the home. The previous owner, a home handyman had a powercord...powercord! within the walls and then attached it to a wall plug. I always used the plug and wouldn't have not realized somethin was amiss although I had noticed the funny stuff always happened on one side of the house and not the other. So it actually took 2 differrent people to discover what was going on. One electrician came to fix the fan and although I had turned off the power he got zapped!!! He took out his life wirer identifier thingie (Folks that watch Mike Holmes will know what I'm talking about) and it beeped like crazy. He couldn't figure out why the thing would show live wires when the power had been shut off. Then another electrician found the powercord within the walls. It would have never been discovered but for a leak upstairs that flowed downstairs onto the ceiling tiles and I was worried about damage to any electrical wires up there. As the ceiling tiles were now damaged and removed is when the horrible amateurish electrical job was discovered. No wonder the power was so wonky in that house...way too much power for the panel and also overloaded on one side of the house. Once fixed...no more problems. I'd say get one of those live wire thingies and check around your home...like near the hood fan for example..something could be shorting out. They cost aprox 15 dollars at Home Depot in case you want to perhaps check out some electrical outlets around your home. As for the phone that's run on battery it could just be that it was acting up due to the battery dying down or crossed wires within? Good luck |
I say get the house blessed. I know I would. But I also think for the phone and the fan it wonky electrical. |
