What do you all know/hear about Vectra
I was talking to my vet today and asked them if there was a better topical than Frontline, as it seemed there was a lot of issues with Frontline last summer. It seems like the fleas are becoming resistant to it. She recommended Vectra. I've heard of it but have no experience with it nor do I know anybody with experience with it. Hence my post. |

| Interesting--my vet and I had the exact same conversation last week. He also recommended Vectra but said that it was not a good tick preventative. Does well with fleas but not ticks. We do not have a big tick problem (or haven't had on Frontline) but I am concerned that it does not protect for both. We discussed several other options as well--but with all of them not protecting against ticks very well seem to be the issue. We left it for now as I do have two additional treatments of Frontline to use before I need to make a decision. I would be interested in what others here have to say if they have had experience with it. |
| We had an Aussie and our vet told us that Aussies often have problems with Frontline and he recommended Vectra 3D. It worked very well. However, it's not a strong as Frontline Plus so after a long walk I check our dog for ticks. Have only found one this year and think that's good. I strongly recommend using Vectra 3D as it does not have the horrible side effects that Frontline Plus has. There are over 1000 posts on Amazon.com about what Frontline Plus can do to your dog and some of those problems result in death. |
