Tonawanda is about 2.5 hours west of me (Buffalo, NY area). Probably about 2.5 hours north of Mike (in Salamanca, NY). Has Madeline been contacted? If this girl is coming east, I can help with transport. |
More details would be great! |
Mark, I haven't contacted anyone... I've only posted her here in case someone is searching for a companion. You might drop her a note if you think she may have someone looking to adopt or a foster home available. If someone looking to adopt does contact the shelter, please come back and fill us in? |
I just got off the phone with the Erie SPCA. Annie was found as a stray. She became eligible for adoption on 2/29 after no owner claimed her. She was bathed and shaved on 3/1 and there is now a photo of her on the SPCA website. http://www.yourspca.org/page.aspx?pid=423 She is about a year old- there's still pink on her nose! She is very active and loves to play. She has had a few family meet and greets- even went home for the weekend with a family. But she was very playful with their other dog to the point they needed to be separated. She is currently being treated for kennel cough. Her weight is 101.2 pounds (don't know if that was at intake or after her grooming)- in any case, she is a big girl. The shelter has specified that the youngest family member be no younger than 7 years old. Take a look! She's a sweetheart. |
OMGoodness!! She's so CUTE and built really big! Hoping she'll find a new family real soon. |
Lovely bone! Doubt she's only a year though. Mature looking. Not old, just filled out and more mature than that. Not a bad thing, if naughty puppy complaints on forum are anything to go by Lack of pigmentation on nose is not indictative of age. Most noses tend to be filled in by the time they're weaned in my experience. Thanks for sharing the pics, Jaci. Upstate NY shelters tend to be great to work with in my experience. Well, it's been a while now. Hopefully things are still that way. Kristine |
Just called, but had to leave number in hopes they get back to me... Will look for status of Annie, and she if she needs picked up...... will post. |
The SPCA has removed Annie from their list of advertised, eligible dogs on the website. Sounds like good news. |
Thanks again for the update. Hoping she found a great family! |
