Please, provide your input. I searched on amazon dot com, they have many varieties, not all of them looks stable to me. Thank you very much! |

I (and several others here) have a nice and relatively inexpensive one from Petedge. They come in fun colors too. The Petedge one is actually our second one, as I have a grown daughter w/ OES too. Our original one she bought half/half with me when she was a teen. I "bought her out" by purchasing one of the ones from Petedge for her - and she chose PINK! I borrowed it for a couple years showing Chewie, as it's a more portable size (24x36). It had held up wonderfully from being toted all over and beyond! http://www.petedge.com/product/Grooming ... /47306.uts The arm that comes with it is not the best, but the table is very sturdy. Dawn nailed it. PetEdge has the best prices and when we orderedm,p;ol ours, we got PURPLE!!! I love it and so do the girls. Vance |
in your pictures the 24x36 looks big enough but if Im not going to be taking it places would a 48x36 be better? |

The older one (that I have now at my house) is 24x48 and a good size. The extra foot wide might be too far to reach easily if the dog is standing in the middle. I'm not tall, so the 24 width is good. Wider would be tougher to reach easily for me, I'd say. (I'm 5'4"). I find I use that extra foot of length mostly for setting stuff on, not so much for dog use! Handy for laying the spray bottle, scissors, thinners extra comb and brushes close at hand. |
Thanks, Im 5'4" too. not short, just fun size!! |

We have a 24 x 48 and love it. A 36 long would be too short for Dex and I think a 36 wide would be too difficult to navigate around. |
24 x 36 works fine for my girls Kristy & Chloe who are 22-1/2 inches tall and weigh about 65 lbs. but it is really a tight fit for Hudson who is 24-1/2 inches tall and weighs about 75 lbs. He kind of hangs off both ends a little bit and it isn't very comfortable for him for long grooming sessions. That said, while I was showing him in conformation, I would only take a 24 x 36 table because it was easier to manage and we made do with that. So I would say the answer is "it depends" on the size of your dog. If you are looking at purchasing a grooming table and you can afford it, I would check out a hydraulic grooming table. Being able to move the table up and down so can lower it to groom the head or raise it to work on the dog on it's side really makes it easier on both you (esp. your BACK) and on the dog. Plus when the dog is older you can lower the table and be able to just give them a boost up rather than having to lift an 80 lb. male all the way up onto the table. I bought a used one (floor sample) several years ago and honestly think it might be the best money I've ever spent. I recently saw a nice one at a Grooming Expo made by Ryan's Pet Supply of Arizona. My first one was 48". Pretty heavy to haul to dog shows etc. but I did for several years. Jim built me a 36" one & it worked fine for my girls as they were smaller than my males. I finally bought a 44" one that is a bit wider & that is the one my dogs feel the most comfortable on & is easiest to haul around (handle cut into the table top & height adjustable legs which helps if you have a larger dog. At home now I use my 48" original when needed & have a 44" electric table which my biggest guy, José, is doing fine on now when he lays down. |
Thank you ALL very much. I ordered one. Coming next week. |
