Diarrhea with small blood after

I know this isn't a great topic title but it is what it is. So here is the low down.

We moved this past Friday/Saturday. Kenny had some pretty runny poos both days and figured it was nerves. He didn't have any accidents pee or poop in the house and so we thought...ok he is taking this well.

Sunday and Monday he was totally fine, normal stool and pees. No accidents

Tuesday - my wife came home from work and found diarrhea in the crate. HE HAS NEVER ONCE done this. No accidents of either poop or pee in the crate.

So she cleaned it up and cleaned him off and noticed a small amount of blood on his bum when she cleaned it. No blood in the pile of stool. She took him outside to clean him and he tried to poop without any luck 2 more times. We called the vet asap and he suggested a 24 hour fast and then bland diet for the next 5 days (chicken and rice). He said it's most likely colitis and can be caused by stress, nervousness, etc. He had a reco from some meds which I think my wife is picking up today. He is a very close family friend so I trust his judgement and he is well respected in the vet community.

Anyway, wanted to get your guys input as I like to hear from the group.

That sounds like the likely cause. Once the GI tract gets stimulated with the faster stools (resulting in diarrhea), it sometimes has a hard time slowing back down. The blood comes when the irritation literally makes it bleed. Resting the GI tract very often takes care of it, breaks the cycles so to speak.
Good luck with your boy! :hearts:
Dogs can go several days without food, an excellent way to "let things heal." Of course keep an eye on your pup, if he tries to vomit, etc call the vet immediately as there might be something tuck in there. Yep, blood out either end.....in small amounts and still bright red....indicates irritation that time will fix if given a chance.

Simone is the one who barfs up blood when her tummy is really bad.
We are keeping a close eye on him. Casi said he tried to poo this morning without luck but we also restricted food so that makes sense. Hoping by the weekend he is back to himself and used to the house. I know he'll like it more in the end :)

He's likely trying to poo from the bowel motility still going (peristalsis), but there is no material left to pass. Sounds like a case of hypermotility for sure.
please keep a close eye on the dog. Summer started like that and went down hill so fast, she ended up in vet hospital. Our first sheepie had something similar as well.....fingers crossed it is nerves.....xx
