We have raised 2 Old English Sheepdogs since they were approximately 5 months old. They are brothers. One of the brothers whom we named Bentley " Ben" is a dolly but we have a baby in the house and Ben has now become territorial and somewhat agressive to not only the toddler, but his brother as well. We have tried with the vet to work out every option and I don't want to put him down he is a wonderful dog, but just needs a good home with no young children and possibly no other dogs. He is well trained and is debarked. Please help us to place him in a good home, it will break my heart to have to put him down.

The seattle oes rescue/oes rescue of washington is really good about getting to these dogs. Im sure they already have wind of him and are trying to work with the family. They truely are wonderful.
what does "debarked" mean?
Sadly, I'll bet it's something surgical... I really hate, (yeah, I know that's a strong word...) people who do this. I worked with a woman who did that to her Pom and it died from complications after she didn't care for it as directed by the Vet.

One of my sheepies was debarked b/4 I got her. It is sad and I personally wounld not do it. However, she still had a bark but it was raspy almost like a sore throat. Yes it is a surgical procedure, cutting the vocal cords.
OMG!!! I was afraid that was what it was but hoping it wasnt!! That is cruel! Does bark, people talk... Sometime more than they should but you learn to live with it! That is just sad.
OMG, I can't believe they de-barked a sheepdog.... well, I can't believe anyone debarks their dog.... !
But, a sheepdog. Part of the beauty of the breed is the deep bark! It is great security. I know it took awhile for Dahlia to find her deep bark, but, now, she has it ....and it scares the living daylights out of me! I love it! Makes me feel safe!
She also has some other barks, but, they are for playing, and trying to get attention.....and she talks and talks and talks!

I hope rescue jumps in to help these people!
