incoming sheepdogs at crazy acres

I am helping a very nice family rehome their 2 ten moth old sheepdogs They will be placed thru Reach Out Rescue and Resources The rescue I work with. One male and one female. I spent a lot of time with both the husband and wife making this decision. Do I blame the owners?? NOPE I blame the breeder who talked them into taking littermates and giving them a discount for taking two and not having an agreement to rehome if need be, This is a heart wrenching decision for this family and they now realize thay made a mistake. They are a great family and have a dog that is from a wonderful local rescue. They both work long hrs and these dogs play off each other (well duh) and they really want to do what is best for the dogs. I have talked to them about getting one well bred sheepdog when the time is right. I would adopt to this family with no problem.. Soooo I will have 2 oes, a shepherd and a corgi mix coming to my place this weekend 8O plus my 3 black dog fosters who do have adoptions pending but we make sure our dogs go to the right home I never place a dog just to place it. I think I need to be placed somewhere in a padded room :twitch:

ARRRGHH!

It kills me when I see posts like these. I SO want to get another dog right now but I just can't. Not until the new house is built.

An older puppy would be perfect for me. Young enough to still be a puppy, but old enough to stay home by him/herself while I'm at work.

Good luck rehoming them.

Will we get pics of them?
Thank you Cindy!!  I hope all the pups in need at your place find loving homes. I know you'll be busy prepping them and working with the rescue to find good homes. Yeah, a 10 month old is great. MO was just a few months younger when I found her at the shelter, a stinking, filthy mess.
Busy, busy, Cindy!

I hope the dynamic duo do well :crossed: :crossed:
Good luck with the crew! Hope everyone finds the perfect home!
Hello! I have been a fan of the OES Breed for quite a while now and my family and I are ready to adpot! I am having difficulty finding any OES to rescue in or around my area. We live in Cincinnati, Ohio. I have been working with a wonderful man by the name of Jim that ran a OES rescue in Northern Kentucky. He has been on the "look out" for me! Would you consider adopting out of state? Please feel free to contact me via email at debhobbs1@yahoo.com. Thank you so much! I have really enjoyed these message boards and reading all the wonderful stories. I hope to post one on here some day too! :D -Deb
Well someone will find sheepdogs for you all :) It is supposed to snow starting tonight thru sat ACK hope it is a dusting nothing major You never know with maryland weather I have an application from a family near me with a rescued sheepdog with a tail :excited: I love sheepies with tails. He is 11 now and I have done the judiciary search, resident,DNA list vet reference and 3 personel ref's so I need to do the HV So maybe the girlie will have a home. Someone from long island is submitting an app Anyone near there that can do a HV for me if necessary?? It is not that far. I cannot adopt in ohio because I like my dogs closer so that if a problem arises I can go get them anyway I am rearranging my house now and got number 6 of the 7 puppies adopted today This was hard now only one baby left ...................
Linda, just sent you an email...I am on Long Island...What town? And names? Maybe I already know them!

Cindy, you crazy dog lady, you! Thank you for your immense heart!

These dogs arrrived stinky and matted and full of themselves and matts So loving :hearts: I had them groomed and they are just the sweetest things Thanks to ashley (diane) a man who is so excited is getting the male and a wonderful family near me is getting the female (Did I mention the male is going to long island sat) I got wonderful excited references on these folks and the gentle man in NY is coming sat!! This is how I like to place dogs No hesitating from vet ref, personel ref and they fly to get their new babies asap!! I could not have placed howie if it had not been for diane She is brand new to rescue but did a stellar job on the HV I have no problem placing a dog 5 hrs away with her help :yay:

Pictures will follow but I am swallowed up with rescue. These dogs will do fine seperate and it was not the bonding that was the problem the owners did not have time crated them for long hours and they barked They have been free to roam here and doing fine I have to say my house is very active with 8 dogs in it Especially 4 sheepdogs!!! :cow:
Maybe you need to be 8dognight? :lmt: :excited:

Wonderful job and what a huge heart you have! I am hoping I will get to see you again at the PA picnic this spring!
Ah, Cindy makes me out to be a big hero or something...Since I live on LI, I offerred to do the home visit. It was only about half hour away...

This is a super nice couple. Nice yard too, with no neigbors in back but a nice walking path around a small lake. Entire yard fenced and even a pool. They had one rescue before for 14 years and another OES rescue that recently passed so they were very excited to be adopting another younger sheepie. There ar no real rescue people here on LI so they were excited to get this opportunity. The man is a big guy and to see the emotion in his eyes showing me all the pix and videos of his former dogs brought a tear to my eyes! This will e a grat home and if there is ever any problems, I am only a short drive away!

Cindy is the real hero in all of this rescue stuff. She does it truly from her heart. So many nice dogs finding great homes because of her - with some help from her friends! To all of those who do rescue who I may not know your names but THANK YOU!!!!!
What great news for everyone...human and canine!! :D :D
I could not do the rescue work I do (and everyone else that is involved in rescue) without the help of friends. As They say it takes a village :hearts: Diane you did not hesitate to help me out BELIEVE getting a Home Visit done is one of the hardest things to do long distance much less by someone you trust. None of us in rescue take placing dogs lightly. I do so appreciate you taking the time ,especially when you had upcoming surgery and so does hubby

PS I would love to be 8 dog night but I would be stone broke homeless 8 dog night :sidestep: awaiting the animal planet crew to do a segment on hoarder in a cardboard box in maryland's farm country 8O
Cindy is a wonderful advocate of sheepie's. We attended her sheepdog picnic in August where she placed a sheepie to a lovely family that had been in contact with her. It was wonderful to see the interaction between the prospective new family and the rescue.
Cindy thanks for all you do.
I am able to assist in transport or home visit in the mid-atlantic area and I am willing to assist any rescue in the mid-atlantic area. I'm located in western Maryland. I just can not foster at this time.
Kathy
