Allison....when I seen Adams donation I thought oh no, he put in an extra zero! I was ready to call when I starting reading the thread that the amount was right! Give him a big hug from all of us. Now, onto Abby. Unfortunately, the surgery will not be done today (the poor girl had to fast for nothing) It will be done tomorrow. They have kept her there and will be calling me tonight at my request to see how she is doing and then in the morning to let me know what time her surgery will be scheduled for. Then, they will call me after her surgery to let me know how it went. I had a wonderful consult with the surgeon and while there is risk with any surgery, we are very confident she will pull through just fine. She was an absolute hit at the University. The vet student was walking around with her and said she has never received so much attention in her whole life. Everyone there fell in love with our sweet little angel. My Paypal account now has a total of $3800 Canadian thanks to all of you wonderful people. Forever grateful, The Dupont Family |

I'll be on my toes all day tomorrow waiting to hear about Abby, and of course praying for a successful surgery!!! |
Good news Amber! I know the hard part is the waiting! Special thoughts and prayers and all fingers and paws crossed here for a successful outcome for sweet little Abby! |
still crossed for a successful surgery tomorrow!!! Amber...try to get some rest! It's going to be a very long day tomorrow for you! |
I'm glad that we, as a group, were able to help you and little Abby. The people of this board are truly special and I'm honored to be part of this great group. Regarding Abby: I'm sure she'll have more post-operative care needed and more vet visits afterwards. As such, I'm continuing to encourage people to donate to little Abby. And we'll keep saying our prayers for her. Actually, the easy work is done. Now the hard part has to get done. |
THIS IS WHY I LOVE YOU GUYS SO MUCH |
Good advice to rest, you must be physically and emotionally exhausted. Will continue to send prayers for little Abby. |
Little Lucy, Ricky Dee & Caly will be saying prayers tomorrow! |
as money is tight in our home right now I cant send anything money wise but I am sending lots of prayers your way. Hope all goes well for your tiny baby. |

The estimate does not include medications, if complications arise or follow up visits. Again, I am so appreciative of everyone, whether you donated financially or are praying for Abby. I am so exhausted in every possible way. I am trying hard to keep my eyes open so I am up when the vet calls at 8:00. Then I really need to try to get some rest. |
I had started to post about Mark's comment too... he's so very right. The surgery will hopefully be the biggest expense but there's no way to know what care Abby will need as she recovers, if there will be any setbacks on her way to getting well. Bumble's chylothorax surgery was $6,350... aftercare with today's estimate $2,867... total $9,217 so far. (Doesn't include the allergies.) Worth every penny but medical care doesn't come cheap. |
Exactly. That's why we need to keep going on the fund raising for Abby. |
I offerred to donate as well but where is the pay pal info to donate????? |

Okay, I found how to contribute and just sent in a donation! Hope its not too late to contribute...Good Luck with the Surgery! Diane Ashley |
I've been on dozens of message boards over the years and NONE compare to the compassion found here. Yeah, some were able to pull together in times of need for other members, but not with near the speed, accuracy and unconditionalism witnessed in the last TWENTY-FOUR hours! Folks, what was accomplished today is genuinely amazing and we should all be proud of the family and the spirit within. Amber, give Abby a big ole Sheepie hug for us all and yourself as well! Vance |
Vance, I couldn't agree with you more...I saw this first hand when my friend passed away and needed help with her OES...The members of this forum pulled together in about 20 seconds...Love this forum and its members.. .I feel like we are all family...Ron, you are the Papa of course! Now, have we had any news on Baby Abbey??? |
The vet called me as promised.....seems little Miss Abby is the hit of the clinic! She assured me she fed her as I have been doing and she is doing just fine. She is second in line for surgery in the morning so as soon as I hear news I will post right away. I am off to bed.....need to catch up on some rest to take care of her once she is home. Hugs to everyone |
With all the prayers here its no doubt that little squirt Abby will do fine. I know I'll be checking often to see how things are going. Now I'm searching for words...How the people here pulled together, not once but many times to help someone in need. It truly humbles me. It makes me proud to be part of such a great group of people!!! |
