Our 4 yr old Sheepie Zoey had this issue. We thought it might be a bladder infection but the vet said no after testing. He put her on Proin and we no longer have midnight puddles. Get your dog to the vet and have them test the urine and make a good assessment. Chances are it's an easy fix like ours was. Vance |
Same thing happened recently with Izzie (almost 7). She has always had a lot of UTI's so we investigated that option. X-rays to check for kidney stones. Blood work to check kidneys and such. Nothing unusual popped up so we put her on Proin and that has fixed the issue...for now at least. Essentially the diagnosis was spay incontinence. |
After ruling out a UTI (urinary tract infection) good chances it's a hormone thing and Proin solves it. Action MO is the only lady dog I've had not on Proin (age 13). And once on Proin they are prone to more UTI's......poor Glacier, her last 2 years were quite a battle. |
Tonks has been on Proin for the last 2 years; she's only 4 and she has done great on it! |
What does the Proin do to fix this? I am not familiar with it. |
Proin contains the active ingredient phenylpropanolamine, an adrenergic agent that works by tightening the bladder sphincter muscle, which helps to control urine leakage. |

Marley is on Proin as well and it has solved the problem, hopefully that's all your girl needs! |
