Here are some photos of her taken today...she is an absolute teeny tiny sweetheart |
|
Wow, she is a tiny one! But really cute How is she doing developmentally compared to the rest of the litter? I know for neurologic development, that really small pups should get extra feedings (as much as they can take) and she would need a higher calorie food to get as much as possible out of what she is able to eat. I have a TFT (toy fox terrier) breeder friend and neighbor, and she often gets a really dramatically smaller pup in her otherwise normal sized pup litters. In fact she just had one in her last litter. She aggressively supplements them, and they end up doing fine. |
Oh WOW! I know you can pull this one through with lots of extra care. Sweet little TinkerBelle! |
What a tiny, precious, beautiful baby! I want to put her in my purse! (Sorry, I have nothing useful to contribute.) |
Oh my gosh a mini! How much do the rest weigh? |

Luna was a runt. She was 5 days younger than Tonks, and only about half the size when she came home at about 7.5 weeks- probably about 4 or 5 pounds. Today she's 20 pounds heavier than her sister. Go figure. By the girl's first birthday they'd evened out in size: |

Mental development is the same as the rest....other than her size there is no difference between her and the others. |

Like I said this is the first time I have had a teeny pup like this so I am not sure what to think, especially when the vet said her heart and urine were ok. We are supplementing her now like crazy, so prayers and fingers crossed for us. Hoping I can post next week and she has gained! |
omg, cuteness overload. i've fallen off my chair. what dawn said as far as protein and supplements. my previous runt was fabulous, outlived littermates by 5 years. |
I already told Amber I want her! (now I just have to sell this other 11 week old demon-dog first ) p.s. I have an adorable 11 week old sheepie puppy to sell! NOT a demon! |
don't let darcey see her |
Oh my.....I am in love. What a precious cutie pie. Keep us posted on how she is doing. Lisa Frankie and Mattie |
She's the cutest baby ever. Maybe she will be the puppy that stays a puppy!?! All pink nose and pads with puppy breath forever. You may be on to something, Amber. Seriously, hoping she will respond well to your therapy, and catch up to her sibs. Does she eat the same type of food as her litter mates? |
Amber the litter of 9 that brie came from last one born did not make it and yes a weenie little pixie like your little twinkle toes. Half the size of all the others, she caught up with no problems just behind the 8 ball as they say at the start. Developement wise she turned out a decent size with no problems. She is 9 now, if I had the photos handy I would scan and post them for you of that litter and the tiny pixie she was, but there in storage at the moment while we are building. Your Vet has given her a clean bill of health she just needs time to catch up to the others, our little pixie went to her new home later then the rest at 14 weeks and she was blooming in leaps and bounds by the time she left for her new home, 12 months on you would not of known she was the wee little pixie she was. Your little girl is soooooo cute. |
The best things come in small packages. She really is the cutest. |
I'm in love with her! |
I, too, have nothing of substance to add except... I LOVE HER!!! |
She is adorable. I just want to bring her home and love her to full size. |
She is adorable, I want her too. |
Screw the supplements! Puppy forever! |
I love how she sits so perfectly for her pictures. and the blue eye/ brown eye is so pretty. Hope she keeps going in the right direction for you. You can always send her down to me, I will fatten her up. |

I want her !!!!! She she so precious !!! |
Amber, I had one pup with a birth weight of 7.5 oz. and she lagged behind the others (5 litter mates) in both weight and development for several months but she caught up to all the rest of them by the time she was about 5-1/2 or 6 months old. She did everything about a week behind the others, including opening her eyes... hearing... getting up on all four legs... etc. I made sure she got enough of her dam's milk and was not pushed off to the side by the others before she was weaned and then I supplemented her fairly aggressively with good quality protein as soon as she was weaned. At one point I started to worry that she might be deaf because all the others were obviously hearing normal sounds and she seemed not to be doing so. It turned out that in one more week, she was hearing normally. By the time we had the litter's hearing tested a couple of weeks later, they all tested normal, including this little girl. It just took her a week longer to catch up to the others developmentally in every department. She was nearly caught up to them in weight by 3-1/2 months or so and by 6 months there was no difference. She was the largest of the litter by one year old. She's still doing terrific at 11+ years. Your pup sure is a cutie-pie. I'll bet she turns out pretty special. Linda Zimmerman |
Troy wants to know when we can pick her up Lisa Frankie and Mattie |
Miss Ellie was the runt from a litter of 10. Her weight at that age was just short of 4 lbs. If you are looking for a home, I have experience raising tiny little princess dogs. |
