Lastly in the photo is a Hartz Angry Bird on the left that we found at Wal-Mart. Hope this helps someone... Vance |

I recommend ruff n tuff toys. They also do dog beds and bowls etc... they are super strong, made from cottony nylony material. Bloo has had his since last year and its still as good as new. I am so impressed with these products. http://www.petsathome.com/shop/ruff-and ... -toy-56255 http://www.petsathome.com/shop/square-d ... tuff-38621 |
This one is also great - they have squeekers that still work even when punctured!! We have the medium length green snake. They come in lizards and other shapes too. No stuffing either!! The tail has a rattle too - Bond has figured out how to squeak and rattle both! Kyjen Invincibles! http://www.kyjen.com/shop/index.php/dog ... ibles.html I bought mine from a vendor at an agility trial. |
Vance wrote: We were looking for a more durable toy for the dogs when a friend who had a Pit Bull and Rottie told us what they but and these two have never been able to destroy. Below is three of the toys from Ultimate line from mydogtoy.com. Here is the direct link to those toys - https://www.vipproducts.com/retail/files/index.php/categories/view/33/ultimate-series. Also in the photo on the right is a gator from the same company so it's almost the same. These things are great. They're tough as heck and very washable. We got these all from PetSmart and all on sale. Lastly in the photo is a Hartz Angry Bird on the left that we found at Wal-Mart. Hope this helps someone... Vance These are great toys--they have a barnyard series that is really cute! |
They're damn near bullet proof!!! We love them because they wash in the machine perfectly and the dogs REALLY do love them. It's pretty common to find Caity just laying with the gator and gnawing on it quietly. Vance |
These toys will work great for a sheepie but do not last with ritz. (Nothing does) Once there is a hole in something (especially if there is a sqeaker inside) its gone. These do last slightly longer though and the multiple sqeakers in them are a hit with both ritz and lily. They really do sew all those layers into the toys, ive counted. Wolf tested, dog approved.... Lmao i just had a thought. There should be a monthly game, is it durable enough for ritz? |
Hah! We had the Angry Birds toy; it lasted for one night as a complete toy, and another two weeks as three separate pieces: the middle head, the outer circle of fabric, and the rope that lines the edges. I just threw out the remnants, and wish I'd seen this thread/taken a photo before I tossed them! Overall, it did last longer than usual... |
I've got a super chewer too - Maggie our coonhound. I had one of the Ultimate toys too. Had it for several years in fact. Then we adopted Maggie, and she found the joy of toys after a few months..... Yep, no toy was safe. She must have razors for teeth - she can bite through a leash with 1-2 bites! Thankfully, she likes the hard white shank bones...and she even manages to shatter them. She needs close supervision! |
We have the snake toy...Nigel loved it but Ollie the mutt has chewed through it and removed a squeaker. Ollie has destroyed most of Nigel's toys. Nigel loves a squeaky toy and I don't know what to get anymore. Ollie won't let him play with anything either...BRAT! He goes through at least 3 stuffies a day when he is at maximum destruct mode. *sigh* |
We've moved to stuffingless toys. Kenny had that exact Alligator in the picture and he ripped through the mouth in almost 2 weeks and was choking on stuffing and almost swallowed the squeaker. I was a bit disappointed with it. We found some stuffingless ones that seem to be pretty durable and we also do a rubber tire ball, a rubber green ball that looks like the soccer ball, a tug rope. He has ripped the arms off a couple too....he's kinda ridiculous...sigh.. |
So fun fact: our friend bought Kenny some little stuffed animals that i thought would be destroyed in about 3 hours. Somehow these things have lasted about 3 months now and he can't seem to destruct them. They dont look or feel durable. I'll try to find the name though ahha. |
For the Sheep-In, I was going to have some stuffie games. For this, I went to a local Good Will store and picked up 18 different stuffies for about $30; that's less than $2 each. I brought them home, washed them in our new washer's 'Sanitize' setting and now we have what seems like an endless supply of stuffies. What I have found with the stuffies is that if your dog has only one or two, they will get shredded in no time. With our two Sheepies, they have eight or ten in their basket to choose from so it's like they're not picking on any one for too long. They last longer if there are many to choose from. As for a good and solid tug toy, these seem to be among the best that we've found. That's all I was trying to get out. I know many have asked and gone through a lot... Vance |
I think it's a great post, otherwise I wouldnt have read it I am just trying to offer my experience as well. Every Sheepie is different and of the STUFFED toys kenny has had, the Gator lasted the longest other than these random ones that i mentioned last post. |
