I have been reading this forum since last fall when I was thinking about getting a sheepdog. Well now I have one and his name is Winston. I live in the northern suburbs in Chicago. My dog Winston is now six months old. He weighs about 65 pounds. This forum has kept me informed about puppy behavior and I have learned many things from all of you. Winston is very energetic and likes to play and run in the park. I know I have questions and conerns about my dog and I hope you will all bear with me in asking my questions. I am happy that I have finally joined this wonderful forum and hope to get to be friends with all of you. |

Hi and welcome!
I'm sure glad you've decided to join in, and I'm also very happy that you've found the forum to be useful up until now. I hope you enjoy your OES.ORG membership! PS Did you know that the name Winston is very special to Joan and me....? |
Welcome to the forum!
Winston is an awesome name! It is my cats name, who happens to be way more than just a cat... he is a friend... the best cat I've ever had, I swear he is so intuitive and knows just when I need a cuddle. We call him Win-snot sometimes too though...lol... he is a cat. |
To Ron,
Yes, your dog's name is Winston. My husband wanted an english name and he decided that Winston Churchill was the name he wanted. Goofing around I call him Sir Winston of Surrey. |
Our current dog is Mulligan, we fostered a Winston for 4 months. He was a sweetie!!!
(Just to confuse things, the picture under my name, my "avatar" is Jake, our first dog) |
Welcome. Winston is a perfect name for a sheepie. There will be a Chicago-land picnic in October. Last year was the first Sheepiefest. I hope you can come. We'll post details as we figure them out.

Welcome Winston!
There is nothing like a warm fuzzy sheepdog. Congratulations to you. |
I am glad I joined and thank you all for welcoming me and Winston to the forum. I have pictures posted on the picture site.
I am truly interested in joining in on any picnic in the Chicagoland area. Please keep me posted because I will be there. Winston has not seen another sheepdog since we brought him home with us from the breeder. Winston keeps us busy and he makes us laugh all the time. Right now he is in the stealing stage. He loves to steal our clothes, paper towels, shoes and socks and then he holds them in his mouth and he wants us to chase him to get the things back. Sometimes he makes leaping jumps at us when we are sitting on the couch. I know for sure he would make an excellent tackle on a football team. Maybe that's what the Chicago Bears need on their team, some tackling sheepdogs. Keep me posted on picnics or get togethers for sheepies. |
Welcome, SheepALot and Winston! This is the best site for everything sheepie, so just plunge on in and enjoy!
Saw Winston's pics on the forum - what a doll! Chris |
