Yeah, it can happen that often. Maybe this is her new "normal." |
They can go at any number of different intervals, six months is just a rough guideline, though mine apparently got that memo and are usually on the dot. More typically, at least in this breed, if they're not following the norm, they'll go longer between seasons. Or they can be pulled in early if exposed to another bitch in season, which is perfectly normal. However, and especially if that's not the case, watch her carefully and if she seems abnormally lethargic and/or off her food, it's worth a vet check to rule out an infection. If she starts cycling every 2-4 mos you may also want to have her thyroid checked, because that is definitely not normal. Kristine |
6 months is just the average. I had 1 girl that cycled at 9 months then 4 months then 7 months then 5 months......get the picture? One time she was nice enough to come into season 6 weeks EARLIER than I anticipated (remember this one Kristine???? in Syracuse?????) while I was at an out of town dog show with her & my male! Not only did she act totally batty in the ring that day but we had to drive home in a blizzard & the normally 5 hours drive took 8-9 hours with my boy crated right next to her in the back of the van |
God, I do remember...quite the circus. Bitches will do their best to drive you batty Kristine |
