Place to stay overnight in San Jose, CA with two sheepies?

Hi everyone-- We are moving to Hawaii and taking Bette and Joone ( yes, we know all about Hawaii's rules...) with us. What I need to know is where we can spend the night in San Jose with two adult OES. We have a 4 hour drive from our home to San Jose, California, so we would like to avoid putting the girls on a 5 hour plane ride right after a 4 hour car ride.
Anyone know of a motel that allows big dogs?
Thanks, Gary

I'm not sure what they have out there, but LaQuinta's are dog friendly.
Good luck with your move! :D
How exciting! Very thoughtful to include an overnight before the flight. Dogfriendly.com lists many choices. Make sure you check the listings to see if any have size limits or extra fees. They also show a few off-leash dogparks if you have time for an outing before your flight. Good luck!
You might check to see if there is a Residence Inn (Marriott) most all of them allow large dogs.
we did a convention in San Jose, and I recall the show promoter asking us if Tonks and Luna were coming, as he'd book us a dog friendly hotel! I tried to call him to ask what hotel it was, and he's out of town.

have you tried Dogfriendly.com? They are a great resource for traveling with pets!
here ya go!

Hello again-- I thought I'd update my post with what I've found so far. La Quinta Inn in San Jose has a 50 pound limit on pets, so they are out. I checked on DogFriendly.com and ended up at good old Motel 6. The clerk I talked with said "Sure, no problem" with a "like we care" tone to his voice. So I made a reservation. I will try to post back with how it all goes after we get Joone over to Hawaii. Lots to do, lots of forms to fill out (grin).

Westins also have a 50 pound limit; when I asked them about this, they told me "Its not like we ever actually weigh your dogs; don't worry about it". We stayed at a Westin with Tonks and Luna who were about 75 pounds each at the time. They even joined us down in the hotel lobby for drinks, and were a hit with other patrons and staff!
Gary!

GOOD LUCK and enjoy your life in Hawaii!
(WHERE is that jealousy emoticon?? :D )

When Joan and I took our foster dog Winston to Hawaii in 2004, we had to have him microchipped and vaccinated 4 months prior to the trip. With all of the Ts crossed and Is dotted the trip and the procedure in Hawaii went just fine.

The only problems were a slight issue trying to find the place to pick him up, and THEN it was against the rules to take him out of the crate until off the airport property. So if you have someone you know, ask them to scout out a (grassy?) place just outside the airport to let Joone out of the crate and go pee!
