For those who know me.....know that I am all for making sure my sheepies stand out in a crowd....Whether it is BLING!!! Sparklies OR...( heaven help me ).....hair coloring.... Here are MY favorite pictures of Plumpy...... Plum..showing her true colors as a bonafide Sheepdog!!!!!!! Plum and Joey snuggling ~~ she is so cuddly For Leo's B.day last year, Plum needed to show him how to play with his balloons!!!!!! One of my really favs...what a sweet photo.Leo, Plum and Gia~~!!!!! There are reasons for what happens in life~whether good or bad~~~ When I resuced Plum, I knew nothing of her temperament, we only knew that, from 3 months to 6 months she was 'caged' in an unheated garage, apart from "her" people. I can honestly say that I was very afraid of what was going to happen when I begged Joey to 'take' Plum for a couple of days, until I could decide what to do with her.... After all with 3 kids, 3 cats in a smallish house with no fence...my fears came to the surface~~~would Plum get aggressive with the cats??? Would my three grandchildren be too much for her??? Would Lenny (Joey's DH) accept her?? ( He always wanted a lab or golden)~ Needless to say, there were many calls, visits, etc to make sure everyone was safe and happy! Joey was certain everything would be fine. After that first night, Joey called me and said.."We all love her and we want her".... As the days passed, I calmed down, seeing Plum acclimate to her new home, seeing the children do group hugs and kisses on her while she glowed with happiness..seeing Lenny and Plum on the couch watching football.. Joey AND Plum knew everything would be fine!! This poor pup just wanted to be loved and cherished, to be praised and played with, to live a joyful life with a very special family. Joey began learning how to groom~~(she grew up with me on the floor, anally brushing, brushing, trimming, etc). She bought clippers, 'borrowed' my grooming tools, searched the internet to see how to properly groom an OES. I am proud to say the Plum is perfectly groomed at all times! She has given me tips and helped me with Heart and Pearl, and shaves Coz in the spring! Sometimes, very often, actually....we are blessed with making lemonade out of lemons.... And, my forum friends....Plum is the lemonade of this families life!!!!!!!!! |
Ah well, that's really too bad it didn't all work out. Better luck next time. |

from Joey!!!! Quote: Val, you may NOT reply (one more thing) ah---em!!!!!!!!! THE name is MOM~~MA~~MOMMY...OR MOTHER~~~~~~ |
Sniff... What a beautiful story! I love when it works out for a sheepie who had a rough start. Hugs! And we like the pink too |
I'd say in the 1st picture, Plum is wrongly accused! Plain as day, the CAT is the naughty one.... |
What a sweet story. That's really all they want -- to be with their people and enjoy love, hugs and living the good life. It's not much to ask... and they give so much in return! Thanks for sharing the story of Plum. -Linda Zimmerman |
I'm with you Dawn, I think the cat did it and Plum was framed! That's a great story and I'm so happy for Plum and her loving family! Cindy |
Just love happy endings--that come from new beginnings!! Great story! I agree--the cat was the culprit! |
Wow mom, you made it sound better than I did! Thanks! |
oh...sweetie, I was on the outside looking in~~ YOU were the one who was a calming force for everyone involved. Love, Patience, kindness. YOU showed your children how to be gentle, how to help groom her. Many accidents in the house (we knew Plum wasn't housetrained), was no big deal for you~ You handled it perfectly.. YOU never lost your temper, never yelled, never harshly punished Plum~and because of this, Plum thinks you are her mom!! She follows you around and worries about you when she can't see you. Because of Joey, Plum is now bell trained, knows basic commands~~~ All the children know how to brush her~~The kids know that a sheepdog will cross their path when running, after a few kneescrapes and tears. I know that Plum is in her forever home but the BEST part is that we (Dino, me, Pearl, Coz and Heart) can be a part of that life!!!! I too LOVE to hear success stories of rescues and for me to be a part of this one, warms my soul~~~~~ |
Plum struck it rich with her new forever family. Great pictures. |
