sheepie meets afghan hound?? what would you call THAT? |
afa-doodle? definitely looks like a poodle mix with I'll go with the afghan idea oy vey |
Looks like a small Scottish Deer Hound? But a little curlier. |
I was rubbish at it |
The first thought I had when I looked at the face was Bedlington Terrier... might just be the way the hair is on the head... anyway, I love scruffy looking dogs like that one |
Not sure. I was thinking borzoi at first but coat isn't right and it's too small. Then a whippet, but the coat isn't right. Maybe a bedlington terrier? |
poodle/whippet cross? |
Bedlington Terrier So who's going to write to the shopkeeper and ask? |
I also say Bedlington. We need Carl or Michele (Carl's wife) to check the pic. They have a Bedlington. They also have afghans AND OESes so they would be able to spot the correct breed! |
I see bedlington and or borzoi, maybe some poodle thrown in |

The coat, long muzzle, build, roachy back look Bedlington to me but I've never had one. I've always admired the breed though. My first personal dog as a teenage was going to be a Bedlington Terrier from a show breeder of all things! Instead I bought a car. Dumbie anyway... Whatever it is, the pictures of the little girl and her dog are JUST ADORABLE!! |
BEDLINGTON!! That makes perfect sense now that you've pointed it out. |
Well the Bedlington part of him/her jumps out right away because of both the face and coat texture/colour. I'd guess no way Afghan and certainly not Bobtail for the other major part. My guess there would be Whippet. (Whippets were part of the Bedlington breed development so that mix probably wouldn't "shift" the physical traits too much.)The size disparity between Bedlington and Borzois/Afghan/Deerhound/Bobtail would mean that the female would have to be bred by AI if they were one of the parents and I doubt that anyone would go to that extreme for a "designer breed". But then again there are some pretty bizarre people out there that will produce anything that they perceive may have a market - remember if someone is dumb enough to buy it, someone else is smart enough to produce and sell it! YMMV Thanks and Cheers Carl |
