I got some sucky news yesterday. My surgeon is talking about doing a shoulder replacement instead of just repairing the tear in the rotator. My options: repair and clean out the arthritis (never had a problem b/4 )he said it may last 1-2 years, toradol injection into the joint (already did 2 other steroid injections one worked the other NOT) or the replacement. Of course he is pushing replacement cuz it will last 20 years. The tear is the result of an accident 10/2010. My BIL, who is a Physical Therapist, sent me an e-mail re: toradol information that he thinks I should review with my primary physician. From what I can understand, which is maybe 1%, there coud be some problems. It will take aprx a week for the pharmacy to get the drug and then the injection will be scheduled. The surgeon said no side affects and not damaging like steroids can damage tissue. I still vote for WD40, super glue and maybe duct tape. What do you think? |
Well, the folks who make Gorilla Glue make Gorilla Tape now... Jen had a bone removed due to arthritis back in August and it really didn't help much. Hope you have better luck. Vance |
I'm in chat now! Anyone want to join me while I take my dinner break? |
Dang...was out to supper. |
Sheepdog friend here has has both shoulders replaced. They go back to Chicago to have it done as the prefer their doctor there. She is very happy to show you she can raise both hands above her head. |
I have a virtual "date" with my brother-in-law, playing online scrabble (with drinking rules), I'll be in the chat channel here too! |
