got sheep wrote: Good timing, as many of us need to put in vacation requests from work. Count on me with TWO sheepdogs! pffft!! TWO sheepdogs?? I call your two and raise you another sheepdog! |
I think we're good to come! One, maybe two uprights (Adam has a ridiculous work schedule) and two sheepdogs... for now. |
Count Melissa and I plus 2 sheepies in!!! Vacation day already requested |
Val, We've set up a payroll deduction into a special savings account JUST for this!!! This will be Caitlyn's one year birthday weekend so we'll have a lot to celebrate!! Count us in!!! Vance, Jen, Zoey and of course Caitlyn. |
Val, count in two parents and one fur baby! It's all we talk about and we have two weddings this year So anxious to see everyone again and meet other forum members too AND THE PUPPIES!!! Can't Wait And I want to volunteer for whatever you need right now |
Baba wrote: got sheep wrote: Good timing, as many of us need to put in vacation requests from work. Count on me with TWO sheepdogs! pffft!! TWO sheepdogs?? I call your two and raise you another sheepdog! Yep, you beat me. Well, before I was always 1 sheepdog and 1 basset. OK, I was 2 Sheepdogs a couple years ago, as I brought my foster boy Otis..forgot about that! |
You can count me in, but probably without a sheepie. I will most likely combine a work trip and Sheepiepalooza! Kathie |
If I still have a job I will be there. No dog though. But I am more than happy to pretend one is mine! |
Count us in too! 2 uprights, but sheepie we're not sure if we'll bring Violet or not...she'll be 9 1/2 and not sure how she'll take the long ride from Florida. I'm looking forward to meeting all of you. |
Paula O. wrote: If I still have a job I will be there. No dog though. But I am more than happy to pretend one is mine! Paula, you can take Nola so I can concentrate on controlling Sam! Put me down for me, Paula, and 2 pups! |
Count us in Val! Two uprights--sheepie # to be determined... at least two... |
Count us in! Two sheepies and two uprights! Can't wait to see everyone again! And the new pups! Yay!!! |
YAY!!!!!!! We're ATTENTING! It'll be me, Schubert and Nick! |
Put me down as well. I've already put the days on my time off calendar at work. So it's me with one Airedale. And maybe another certain dog? |

Count two of us in and one, maybe two OES |
CamVal1 wrote: Put me down as well. I've already put the days on my time off calendar at work. So it's me with one Airedale. And maybe another certain dog? Zeke had such a good time last year, hope you can bring him along |
Count two more uprights and an 11 month old Benson into the mix. Can't wait to meet folks face to face! Hey Mark! If schedules work out, we should tag team out there! |
Wouldn't miss it. We'll be two and two. My vacation time was requested and approved. |
Count on me and Teddy too! Took my vacation days also! Yay! Cindy |
Jonsey wrote: Hey Mark! If schedules work out, we should tag team out there! Great idea! We should get together with Jacqui and see if we can hammer out a plan to convoy to the Lou. I'd just have to make a stop in Columbus, OH (which you have to drive thru anyways to get to St. Louis) to pick up a special package. |
If you guys stop in Columbus, we're only 55 miles West on the way; we'll join the caravan!! We're in Dayton. Vance |
I know it said details to follow, but for us newbies , where do people stay when they come? I have to find out how long of a drive it is to St. Louis. My home office is located in St. Louis, so I wonder if I can figure out work that needs to get done while I am there and ..uh...tax deductible work trip too...hmmmm...wheels are spinning...lol. But, seriously, are there pet friendly hotels around? We would love to come, but I cannot commit just yet, as I have to see what the cost would be for everyone. I have been laughing that getting Pru set us back a year (catching up still). I call her my million dollar baby... (but worth every stinkin' penny I have to say ). |
We stay at the Pear Tree hotel (or something with Pear in its name) which is outside St. Louis. Val or someone will post details. Totally pet friendly and there is a cool grassy area in the back with picnic tables that we take over for the stay. Last year Dawn, Pam and Judi set up a little agility course. Those of us who don't run and jump sit at the picnic tables and eat and drink (both alcohol and non-alcohol) and socialize. Last year my single room was under $100 a night. |
Millie and I are in. DH and kids may come to some events. Val, I tried to email Judi about this and didn't get a response back, so I may have her old email address. I have some items for the auction and would love to help out with anything you need. If you are still planning a day in St. Charles I am close and can help coordinate things. Let me know. Can't wait to see everyone again!!!!! |
I loved St. Charles! For a Canadian, it was really neat to get a feel for smaller town America and get a taste of the history of the area. I would love to go there again. Plus, we had great company for that day! |
Tiffany - it all gets arranged by the great St Louis people as a group. We have a block of rooms at the hotel, have activities planned and everything like that. Come a day early or stay a day later to do any extra stuff that you may want. I did that to visit the arch again. Mainly now, you want to get the dates off from work and map your route....the rest will happen later! |
For those that have never been to St. Louis, you'll want to make some time before or after Sheepiepalooza to at lease see the Arch. It's really cool. You can go up to the top (I think 637 feet up) and get a great view of both St, Louis from one side and the great Mississippi river from the other. There are some great doggie day care places in St. Louis if you needed to drop your dog off for a few hours while doing some human stuff. Val, Judi, and Jennifer can make suggestions for those. (I used to take Brick here and he seemed to like it and they liked him: http://www.silvermaplepetcenter.com/ ) We stay at the Pear Tree in Fenton, MO. which is a suburb of St. Louis. Like Dawn said, we'll get a block of rooms for us at a special rate. And like Paula said, we hang out behind the hotel (when not at an event) for social time. |
Vance wrote: If you guys stop in Columbus, we're only 55 miles West on the way; we'll join the caravan!! We're in Dayton. Vance Vance, That sounds like a great idea. Let us work out our details and hopefully they'll dovetail with yours. |
And if anyone else lives on or near OR has to travel on or near the I-90, I-271, I-71, or I-70 corridors, we'd love to have you join our convoy. |
We are definitely a strong maybe . Have started the family discussion. I have a real work trip the beginning of May in Chicago and have never been, so the hubby and I were going to go together for the first time and see the sites. But...gotta admit...Sheepielooza sounds like much more fun! |
Jen spend her early teen years in a suburb of St. Louis, so I'm sure we'll be visiting her old friends while there. Mark, keep us in the loop... Vance |
Yay zeke is coming! We also loved St Charles! Mady, boggy and Gigi showed us the town! There is so much to see in St louis! Boggy keeps asking about the ice cream! Gigi is starting here bling planning already! Me, I am looking forward to the HILL! Val tell your husband to get ready to show me more of the hill! I felt at home there! Familia! |
I do believe Plum and 4-5 uprights will be there. |
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ oh~~joy~~~ My daughter, her family and my granddog, Plum are attending!!!!! I am sooo happy!!!! |
yay we're on!!! |
Olive & Denise and Sierra & Debbie - THANK YOU for organizing another fun time! |
Tilly, Camille and Kathy and Monica , you count us in |
I am trying my hardest to get someone to come with me and Kirby. So right now I am a strong maybe - hope so!! |
Greg/LuAnn wrote: I am trying my hardest to get someone to come with me and Kirby. So right now I am a strong maybe - hope so!! If you can get to southern MN, I will carpool! |
Mark, funny you posted that video... I not only used to drive a semi, I still have a CB radio in the Trooper and still use it on long highway trips. Far more effective than ANY radar detector and usually more entertaining too. Vance |
sheepieshake wrote: ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ oh~~joy~~~ My daughter, her family and my granddog, Plum are attending!!!!! I am sooo happy!!!! And Caesar? And family???? |
^^^^ Haven't heard from them yet...BUT...I can't imagine them missing a Sheepiepalooza!!!!!! Ceasar just loves all the sheepies!!! He thinks he is one!!!! |
Please tell M that the fan club is requesting Ceasar's presence. Charm is old enough to play with him now, and I can't wait to see him |
Put me down for two uprights and no sheepies. Ziggi doesnt like to travel and now that she is 11 yrs I think the trip will be too much. I'll borrow one of Kim and David bunch - I'm sure they could use an extra handler. |
I am hoping to come and already scheduled the time off from the 24th thru the 29th. It would be me and Oliver, who will be 10? in July, and hopefully Nancy H and her Maggie, also a senior. Because I have a very old vehicle and don't want to take it that far from home, I checked into a rental for not a bad price. A convoy or (carpool would be great if Nancy doesn't go) Anyone coming thru Minneapolis? I even checked into Greyhound and Amtrak and can you believe the DON'T ALLOW DOGS on them? . Amtrak, only service dogs.( Oliver? Yah, right.....) Again, I am really really really hoping to come and meet many uprights and sheepies!!! |

I had checked into Amtrak before too - and found the no dogs allowed.... We could meet up where Hwy 14 and 35 meet in Owatonna and convoy down. I hope Nancy H can come with - been nagging her for YEARS!! |
I so want to come this year It depends on what is going on at crazyacres. I am an emergency foster for 3 groups. Which means at the drop of a hat ,I go and get dog/dogs. Just as I went to get sweet Robin. Those of you that do rescue know there are nice dogs that have to move ASAP or else . I take my vol/community service responsibility very seriously.I will try and not have fosters here that month, sometimes I can't help myself Gas prices could be a factor if push comes to shove I could amtrack with just Guinness as he serves as a mobility dog for me. I need to see how his hip is doing. |

We are hoping to come! We have a four wheel drive jeep this year in case we happen to slide into any ditches this year. Yay |
Cindy........................... hoping you can come!!! Sheepiepalooza misses you too!!!! The 'stuck' jeep???? I thought, although is wasn't great, just proved how all of our sheepie 'parents' band together and help each other!!!!!!! |
WeLoveOurSheepies wrote: We are hoping to come! We have a four wheel drive jeep this year in case we happen to slide into any ditches this year. Yay That was you guys that got stuck at Purina Farms? Was that a Jeep Patriot? Not AWD? What kind of Jeep did you replace it with? And we hope to see you at Sheepiepalooza 2012. |
Talked to my husband last night about going and he said sounded fun. SOOOOOOOOO unless he changes his mind we will be there with 2 up rights and 1 sheepie. (warning she probably isnt as well trained as some of yours but shes full of love and playfullness ) Anyone else from Texas going up? We are in Denton - North of Dallas if anyone wants to caravan.... when do we need to reserve hotel and such? |
I'm positive Val or Judi will tell us when we'll be able to book the hotel. |
All Sheepie events fall at the worst times.....i'll be out of country...sigh |
Rob, We'll take Kenny for you. That way he'll be able to tell you what you missed out on! Vance |

Yes, that was us It was a Jeep Patriot (2WD, 4 Cylinder) and although there are lots of things we miss about the ol' Patriot (esp. gas mileage) our new Liberty will hopefully prevent an embarrassing debacle like we had out at Purina Farms. But as Val said, it was a great way to meet new people and see how Sheepie families can work together. |

What year did you get? Did you get it with 4wd? I worked as a quality engineer at the factory that produces the transfer case for the Libertys. (the transfer case allows you to shift from 2wd to 4wd). My brother has had 2 Libertys, a first gen & now a second gen. My ex g/f had a 1st gen Liberty. And Pam (Simon's Mom) has a 1st gen Liberty. They really are great vehicles. |

Hmmm, maybe we should get a jeep to bring our whole troop to Sheepiepalooza too, something like this: |
Baba wrote: Hmmm, maybe we should get a jeep to bring our whole troop to Sheepiepalooza too, something like this: The picture didn't load for me, but at the rate that your family is growing you might as well just buy a bus now |
Amanda P wrote: but at the rate that your family is growing you might as well just buy a bus now LOL. Good one Amanda! Maybe something like the bus from the Partridge Family. That seems that it would suit their family well. Dave & Kim could even have a family video & song. But instead of little stylized cartoon partridges, they could have sheepies walking across the screen. |
Is no one seeing the photo I posted? Of a Jeep YJ limo? |
Baba wrote: Is no one seeing the photo I posted? Of a Jeep YJ limo? Nope. Can't see it. |
Baba wrote: Is no one seeing the photo I posted? Of a Jeep YJ limo? Nope - it wasn't a link. The word "image" was on the screen, but in plain type and not a clickable link. |
Blah, it comes across as a normal posted photo to me. Well that's my joke ruined, basically my whole day ruined, guess there's nothing left to do except run to my sheepie and be comforted... |
For sure! Except you get sympathy from 2 ...and some pinches and nibbles from the 3rd! |

The gas consumption is not so great and we are working through some interior rattling issues but overall we are really happy with it. The boys love to go for R-I-D-E-S in it. They call themselves Jeepie Sheepies |
We're working on hotel arrangements so hopefully we'll have some news soon. Jake is feeling better and ready to party at SHEEPIEPALOOZA 2012!!! Can't wait to see everyone again! |

I think we may be able to come this year Little busy here but, putting it in the plans! Hope to see you all there |
We = as in you and Marty and all the kids?? Or is this going to be YOUR turn to get out with some of them? |

whoo hoo!!!! Hope you come!! Would be great meeting you! |
just so we can be ready do we need to bring shot records or anything like that with us? Just want to be prepared. |
Ryleigh wrote: just so we can be ready do we need to bring shot records or anything like that with us? Just want to be prepared. You should have them along. I make copies of them, and keep them in my dog bag that goes to all my dog events (and the bag lives in my vehicle). That way I'm always prepared, no matter which dog I have, or where we are going. Also, last year we got visitor passes for the Soulard Dog Park, and we had to pre-register and submit health records with that. Several events were there, it's a great old neighborhood. Nice to let the dogs run off energy, then head to a nearby outdoor cafe with all our dogs... But if we do that again, it will be all spelled out for us. |

Right you are Dawn.....There will be a packet that everyone can go online and print it out. It covers all of the details that are required~~Hopefully, theses packets will be available in the next week or two. AND..............after you go through the packet and have questions, there will be names and email addresses for you to contact.....As someone once said...(all of us in St. Louis) think we have Sheepiepalooza down to a science~~~ I am so excited that so many of you are going to attend!!! I can't wait to meet the 'newbies'~~~ I remember meeting all of the forum members that came the first year I was involved, and it was so nice getting to know all of my long distance friends~~and it just gets better and bigger each year!!! Sooooo...for anyone who has never attended, I can promise you (and your sheepie, of course) the best weekend you ever had!!!!! You will NOT regret it!!! |
Sure hoping we can come this year. I keep mentioning it to Troy. Would love to meet all of the uprights and there Sheepies. Lisa Frankie and Mattie |
babysheepie wrote: Sure hoping we can come this year. I keep mentioning it to Troy. Would love to meet all of the uprights and there Sheepies. Lisa Frankie and Mattie I sure hope you guys can come, too. Would love to meet Frankie & Mattie (and you guys, too, of course ) |
Tell Troy that I'll be there and him, Mark and I will go find something manly to do. I know there's a race track or two ring near St. Louis. I'm sure Dino will help out! Vance |
Vance wrote: Tell Troy that I'll be there and him, Mark and I will go find something manly to do. I know there's a race track or two ring near St. Louis. I'm sure Dino will help out! Vance Don't tell David about that!! I already got tricked into buying a zoomie car and I am trying to convince him to trade it in for a more 3 dog friendly SUV or van. He keeps reminding me about how our zoomie car outran a tornado on the last trip to Sheepiepalooza. |
And Rob (Barb's husband) will be there as well. He's another car guy. |
CamVal1 wrote: And Rob (Barb's husband) will be there as well. He's another car guy. Yeah, another bad influence on David! |
Maybe it's David who's a bad influence on us. |
We were having lunch today, and Troy mentioned renting a motor home to take out to St. Louis. Lucky for me 2 sheepies don't fit in the Challenger. Lisa Frankie and Mattie |
Pics of Chally? |
I'll have to get one and post I'm sure Troy has one. It's not an old one. I think it's a 2009 SRT8 He loves it. Lisa Frankie and Mattie |
AWESOME!! Here's my '09 R/T See. Troy & I already have something in common. |
Nice car!!!!! This is the only picture he had at hand. Troy wanted me to tell you it's a stick shift. Lisa Frankie and Mattie |
Sweet car! Mine's a stick, too. It's the ONLY transmission to have with a car like these. So this is more reason to come to Sheepiepalooza. Troy can talk cars with me, Vance, David, and Rob. |
CamVal1 wrote: Sweet car! Mine's a stick, too. It's the ONLY transmission to have with a car like these. So this is more reason to come to Sheepiepalooza. I used to to have a bumper sticker that read 'Real hot rods have THREE pedals!' My '34 Ford had a manual and my Biscayne was going to. I'm building an engine now that is being built with a manual in mind. We need to find a guy thing to to. VAL!!!!! Have Dino call me so we can get something going. You should still have my cell. Vance |
Mark and Vance please add my husband Chris to your list of car guys coming. haha He doesnt get on here but he is looking forward to going. OH and hide the Challengers please, my daughter wants one so bad- 16 + sports car= high insurance!! At Kim: we have a Yukon XL - we travel with 3 dogs and 3 kids (teens) lots of room. |
I wish I didn't live so far I would love to go! |
We will have the same minivan with the signs on it! You do remember the signs on our car!? |
oesmom2 wrote: We will have the same minivan with the signs on it! You do remember the signs on our car!? Yes Carol--loved your signs! Tell us where we can get them!! |
Ron had the signs made at a local sign shop. Any sign shop will make them for you. |
So I told Adam it was time to sign up for Sheepie Palooza and I did not expect this: HE BALKED!!!!! He has so much work, and his current project goes through the end of September. I know he's thinking he cannot take the day to drive up, 3 days to hang out, and day to drive back off from his work schedule (he's already behind). So I suggested I sign us up, and if at the end he decides he really can't take the time off, I'll go with a friend instead. He looked SO HURT that I'd go without him.... But I'm going. One way or another. We missed last year; I don't want to miss 2 years in a row. I just have to figure out how to manage it! |
Oh no, poor Adam! Hopefully it all works out Chewie has a question....He wants to know if Izzy and Taylor's cute little cousin is coming again this year?? (Yep, he was visiting her in the bathroom ) |
Chewie may get his wish, but they haven't decided yet |
