Yup,that's my Panda boy sporting his new do after a visit to the vets today. I hadn't expected the extra hairs near his face and although he was sedated I realized they hadn't taken the muzzle off, so those parts didn't get near a razor. The staff and vet worried I'd be upset but if it meant using less sedation ...well I can live with it I quess. Although there is no way on earth I'd be able to now cut off those offending pieces!!! Oh well...my boy is doing fine and that's all I worry about and turns out he didn't have a horrible ear infection - whew! Just a lot of ear wax. So that's his 430 dollar haircut. Of course as I mentioned previously - he has the "works" done when he's under . They forgot to give him the Advantage while he was under and "thought" he'd be okay just squirting it on him....haaaaaa. You can see the streaking on his back from this attempt. Okay I'm sorta chuckling but I know my boy and am appreciative there is never hestitation on their part to bring him in. Gilligan's nose in his butt wondering who the heck the newcomer is to our household. Panda just returned from the vets enjoying a nice juicy bone (you can see a better glipse of the offending hair) |

Does he seem surprised when he wakes up and he is shaved? I bet he feels like velvet. |
He seems "shy" and hesitant to be around the others at first. The next day he's racing around showing off his new haircut doing zoomies as he seems to love the feel of it. I know I've had this done now for aprox 7 years. This particular sedation is not as heavy as the ones he's had in previous years but he's still a tad groggy and he'll be back to himself by tomorrow. Snoop wagged his tail at him, Gilligan smelled his butt and then nuzzled him, Merlin ignored him. . |
Panda looks very nice in his new do! |
I love the shaved down feel, except mine or so lumpy and bumpy now with age, being slicked down isn't pretty any more. He has an Airedale face! |
Yay, he made it through and so did you! I love the little butt sniff from Gilligan And glad he passed inspection from the rest of the boys |
Panda boy looks beautiful....I love his goatee...very debonaire |

Thanks everyone for the comments and not laughing at my boys face. I'm sure he'll be happy again tomorrow. As for me I can stop worrying until next year when he needs to be shaved down again. Marianne |
Panda looks handsome as ever. He looks like he really is enjoying his bone. |
I'm laughing at the meds application. Poor boy won't even stand still for that? Poor Panda, he really doesn't like to be confined in any way. I'm sure you have a coat for him for those necessary nature calls outside. |
Nope Panda won't allow anything on his back (except a blanket) as anything he percieves as restraint sends him in his "pre-coming to live with me mode." Luckily, one of the first things I had noticed about this home is the 1-2 steps to the outdoors which was great for old dogs. That means this morning he did a quick bathroom break and returned asap. The pics don't show this as I guess the hair was flattened - but they left quite a bit on the top of his head as well that stood straight up by the evening. OMG!!! My boy has not only a GOATEE but he has a MOHAWK. well, nobody is going to mess with my boy! |
