I put the series of "attack pics" up on my website...these were taken yesterday : ) Anyone else have popcornaholics??! Enjoy! |

Too Funny.
Pepsi would probably eat popcorn if we let him. He got into the popcorn dish with just the unpopped kernals left. I heard this crazy crunching noise and found that Pepsi had hid them in a special spot and was eating them at his leisure. I thought he would break his teeth. He just loves them though. Elissa |
In Abigail's defense(but mostly mine for leaving an open bag of popcorn around for her to get into!), I must add that this WAS the fat free popcorn! : ) You think she's trying to tell me that I have to step up my routine and get into "puppy coming soon" mode?? I think she's right! LOL! |

Lol. I've got an everythingaholic! You know what Clyde likes that I've never had a dog like before? Citrus fruit-- oranges, pineapple, grapefruit. My other one likes Thai food but wouldn't touch fruit! |
I think popcorn is the ONLY thing Tucker doesn't like, well that and
tomatoes. Other than those though, he browses my garden like it's a buffet. Cucumbers are a favorite and he loves chives. I know the onion type stuff is a no-no, but I don't know if that goes for the greens above ground. (he never eats that much of it anyway) Mellon of any kind he loves too. We are lucky he doesn't have a sensative stomach and rarely gets sick from eating! The popcorn he just spits out - go figure. Shellie |
Don't they just crack you up?!
I used to think my guys would eat any food that bounces (brussel sprouts, melon balls, etc). Now I know they'll eat food that doesn't bounce, too. : ) They love bananas and apples and oranges. They haven't tried Thai food or pineapples....I really DO try to keep the people food down to a minimum, but every once in a while.......... I've always been blessed with OES who have cast iron stomachs! They love cukes, too. I can't believe there's an OES out there who spits out popcorn!! HA! I thought they all came with that gene! Carl came in second place at a dog competition in an event called the "Clean Plate Club". He ate everything, tomatoes, carrots, hot dogs, pickles even the part of the paper plate. The only reason he didn't win, he would eat the slice of lemon. Our friend's Australian Shephard won, she ate the inside of the lemon like it was candy! |
We haven't tried popcorn with Barney but my bearded collie when I was growing up LOVED popcorn. We would toss each kernal to her and she would catch it in the air. It was very entertaining for us kids. When she passed away and my parents got a sheepie, we figured she would be the same way, but she isn't really a popcorn girl. Most anything else...yes. My brother found her wandering through the house last week with a bright yellow nose--she had been eating the flowers in vases all throughout the house and had gotten pollen on her! |
I've never heard of ANY dog willing to eat lemon! LOL! Our late great Emma was a flower eater...she loved daffodils! I did a painting of her when she was a baby standing in the flower bed eating the flowers...I put it on a shirt I wore with "Old English Sheepdogs take the time to stop and eat the flowers". : ) |

I've sworn to do things different with Clyde since I got him as a puppy and could bring up him up consistently from day one. This implies that I'm concerned about nutrition for him, which I am, but I'm ultimately more concerned about being able to get some of my own dinner! I've had Lucy (My Briard/Beardie mix) since I first moved out of my apartment 6 years ago and, as my sole roommate, we'd share everything. She's not a beggar and she's not a pig. Again, I know I shouldn't give it to her. You know I feel guilty too-- look how I'm trying to justify it! |
My guys aren't beggars either! They don't HAVE to beg. They get whatever they want! LOL!! SERIOUSLY now....they are very good about not mooching and I'm very good about not "sharing" people food with them...my husband is another story! That popcorn was just above and beyond tempting! LOL!
If I'm in the kitchen cooking, Abigail will stand next to me and stare at the floor. She has NO faith in my ability to keep things on the counter! She makes me laugh so hard when she does this, that I almost always live up to her expectations and sure enough...whatever hits the floor is fair game! Cathy |
LOL...that's too funny!
Being the over-protective mommy I am, lol, we don't have popcorn in the house. I have a really good friend who lost her 3 year old son from choking on a popcorn kernal. I just can't let my boys eat it yet, so we don't keep it around. I bet Jasper would love it though! |
Like Barney 1, Barney is not too sure of the stuff yet. His first exposure was about a week ago. I pop the old fashioned way: shaking a lided pot over the flame as it pops. My former Collie would always come running when he heard the corn popping. Then he and I would share the pot 50/50. He loved catching the popped corn I threw to him. I threw a few to Barney, and he's not into catching things yet. I layed some on the floor, and he played with it until finally eating it. I wound up eating most of it myself. The popcorn was old. I'll try again with fresh kernels. |
Tasker LOVES popcorn, it's the only "people food" he's ever been given. When he hears it popping in the microwave he come running. He only gets a very small handfull but loves every kernal. |
Remy tries everything once, she's willing to eat popcorn but has many other favorites.
Between her and Jake (cat) a box of ritz crackers, esp the garlic ones is not safe. They both know how to get it open. |
