Happy New Year!! I'm already brushing teeth to pack my kids up to bed. ...my bed. We already celebrated ...tons of fireworks (neighbors) in our street and lots of playing. Kids barely made it upstairs. As long as they're tired... it means I did good right?

Just hope they stay asleep as the fireworks continue to go off until early in the morning. ;)
Hoping everyone gets the year they want and deserve!

I too am already getting ready to hit the bed; I can hear my Swedish foam and flannel sheets calling my name, softly and lustfully... I dropped off Jen at the grandkid's house and that leaves me home alone with the Sheepies and cats. It should be a nice quiet night, save the redneck in my area who think that firing off handguns is a right or even a necessity... I'll never understand this crap. I guess I'm too old and maybe a little to educated as well...

Oh no! Starting the new year sick is no fun, hope he is feeling better soon. Unfortunately I am sick too, with bronchitis and I am so tired. I'll probably be in bed by 10:00.

Happy New Year everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dogs have gone out to potty before the fireworks and gun shots start. I'm cough medicated and ready for bed. I got these lovely fleece sheets for Christmas and they are calling my name.
Until the fireworks and the sheeps wake me up.

Happy New Year everyone.

Lisa Frankie and Mattie
HAPPY NEW YEAR!! We sure are a rowdy bunch!

:excited:  :yay: :ghug:
Just waiting for my turn in the shower. 910 pm. Plan to finish my book.
Spent the evening at my aunt's house.
My parents and aunts & uncles & cousins used to have humdingers of parties back in the late '50s into the early '70s.
I was too young to remember them but I heard they were real parties.

We tried to recreate that tonight but it ended earlier than anticipated. All the aunts & uncles are up there in age now (late '70s to mid '80s) and the cousins are spread out all over the country now.

Too bad but it was still a nice time.
It's 2 a.m. and there are still people just starting their fireworks in front of my home (my home being where the cul de sac is which is the safest place to do them). ...of course I'm now up w/1 crying baby and 2 kids who can't sleep. In the past, the last batch of people doing them ...do them "at" midnight and then common sense rolls in considering the type of people who live here (majority have young kids).
I watched some tv slept, woke up at 11:50...stay up long enough for the ball to drop and get my New Years Eve Kiss. I could hear some fireworks, but I had closed all the windows and turned on the a/c to cut down most of the sound and left the tv on. China/Asia were on the bed and Violet was laying on the floor next to her Daddy's side between the bed and the wall. So all they were all quiet in slumber.

Mrs J: I would have gone outside at 12:30 and asked them if they could move their party way down the block. That my very tired children were crying and wanting to go to sleep. I hope you finally got some rest.
When I was younger, I was all about starting wars and now I attempt to avoid it first. ...so I held my tongue esp when 2 people parked in my driveway followed by one person at the end of my driveway ...parked horizontally. Did I mention I HATE inconsiderate people???? God was listening to my grunts. It started to pour (out of NOW HERE since the skies were clear) at 2:30 a.m. Quiet the rest of the night for the kids and since I don't plan on going anywhere... I'll give the neighbors until noon to get their guests out of my driveway. :) Seriously though... who parks in someone's driveway and not the street????
Not a peep was heard here. We had the balcony door open all night too. I guess ambien really does work.

L, funny story about parking in someone's driveway. My old neighbor had someone park in her driveway on a "weird" Wednesday (they used to do Midieval crap). They were always in full regalia. Chain maille, pointy hats with chiffon. Etc.

Any way after a long day at work, she goes to pull in her driveway and finds this car in her driveway. She walks to the park across the street and makes a ruckus. This "knight" says there is nothing I can do about it, you must seek an audience with the "king". (no lie)

She is FUMING. She stomps over to the king and starts yelling at him. Two more knights cross their poles in front of her and says "you do not speak to our king in such a tone".

Well, you can imagine where her vocabulary went. The car was moved in minutes. They did NOT break roles at all...they were one goofy bunch of people.
LOL That is funny. The cars are still there and I'm over it. We'll walk to the park today and Mr. J isn't home so ...no harm. I was probably cranky last night when I was upset. Maybe they think we're away (which I doubt but at least it's them and not me being rude).
We are still down at our daughter's place so we had a small New Year's celebration. Her daughter and boyfriend came over, had some snacks and then Kevin finished setting up Denise's new laptop that Nicky got her for Christmas.

We were all in bed early, heard fireworks or shots at midnight and went back to sleep.

Planned on going home this morning but between the wind and the wet snow we are staying one more day. We have 200 miles to go north and people heading for the Packer game would make the roads that much more iffy so better safe than sorry.

Hope it's a very good year for everyone.
I would have taken one crying baby out on my hip to make my request for them to plz move their fireworks down, away from my front yard. It is a simple, civilized request. Maybe you'll need to post NO PARKING signs on your driveway for the 4th of July. Geez, I agree with you, so many don't have manners.

You're WAAAAAAAAAY too nice; I would have had them towed. And as for the midevil bunch, I would have told them that it's not wise to bring a knife to a gun fight as they were out of their era. I would have had them towed as well. Did I mention I know a tow truck driver? He's more evil than me!!!

We had an abnormally quiet night. I got more grief from a newly infected toe nail than my neighborhood. Maybe they're finally maturing. We did have the fire trucks roll past twice just before 12:00...

haha... well I wish I knew a tow driver ;)

Talked to the neighbors today while kids were out playing. I guess our across the street neighbor said "there are people who have young kids on this street... time to stop your party" ....so I guess it wasn't the rain that stopped them at 2:30 but an old cranky man who was thinking specifically about my kids. Loved hearing it!
