We had a couple offers for him to sire a litter at a show in Dallas a couple weeks ago. We will get his first CERF and preliminary OFA in the next 3 weeks. Having his son would be great. We know of 2 reputable bitches recently bred that we would be near the top of the list to get a puppy. What to do! Stay tuned for progress! |

While we are trying to decide about our next OES we were given the opportunity to foster a 2 year old, neutered male. This will be a great way to find if we really do want 2 OES and if we want to get a puppy or go with an adult dog. We will get him later this week. When we do I will post pictures. Dexter will finally have a playmate!! Now all we have to do is not fall in love with a dog we will not be able to keep! |
That is how it started with us. We had two older OES visit us for a few weeks and it went so well that now we have 3! Share some pictures of them playing together. |
Can't wait to see pics!! |
Found out today we won't get him until Saturday afternoon. My drive went from 170 miles to 30. Also found out he appears healthy, is at normal weight but was flea infested. The owners did a hack job cutting him down so he will go to a vet and groomer in Fort Worth for more exam, shots, worming and a shave. We have cold weather (for Texas) in the near forecast so he will come with a jacket. He is at the interim foster home and gets along with their OES, cats and kids so he will likely get along with Dexter. He and Dex wil meet at the vet's doggie day care yard and get to know each other before we head home. We're eager to meet him and happy to be involved in the OES Resuce program. Pics as soon as we get him. |
Thank you for helping out with this boy! Who knows? Maybe Dexter will get along so well with the new boy that you won't want to give him up. (There are worse things in the world than being a "failed foster". ) Laurie and Oscar |
Welcome to the wonderful world of fostering!! |
Yeah for you!!! Don't be afraid to fall in love...great things come from it. |
Oh how exciting!!! Let us know how it goes. I bet you Dexter will make you keep this one! |
The only thing Dex would not want to keep is a Puli; we were next to one last weekend. He kept looking and couldn't figure out what it was. He didn't even want to go check it out when they put it on the floor. (I didn't realize it was a dog let alone something alive until they put it on the floor and it walked!) We did ask and Rescue said we will have the option of keeping him. The OES, not the Puli. |

We got a couple pictures of Oliver (Shaggy) last night. Is it a bad sign that we've already changed his name and haven't even met him? The interim foster said he is in good shape though flea infested. He's been thoroughly de-flea'd but has lots of red bites. We'll meet him in about 24 hours. |
ah what a cutie can't wait to see more pics good luck |
Our 1st OES was Oliver....it's a very good name! |
What a sweet face! |
He looks like a really sweet guy! |
I posted some pics of our first day with Oliver aka Shappy on the Rescue forum. |
