Once one company has a problem like this, we start seeing others that also have the same problem... Advanced Animal Nutrition The FDA posted a recall on December 8th- http://www.fda.gov/Safety/Recalls/ucm283362.htm There is a little more information explained here... http://www.petsitusa.com/blog/?p=4647 |
On a similar subject, we recently bought a bag of Purina Pro Plan puppy food and it was, well, greasy. I called Purina and what I was told was that sometimes in colder climate factories, the fat that they put in the food during one of the last steps doesn't get completely absorbed. I was assured that there were no safety or health concerns. To Purina's credit, they did send me a coupon for a free bag of food (up to a $35 value) and a couple other regular coupons along with a kit to return two cups back to them for testing. Caitlyn actually is more happy to eat this bag of food more than others with no ill effects what so ever. If you ever have any concerns, call the company. most are more than willing to work with you.
