I saw it on TV...It is a duvet cover and you fill it with your old smelly clothes and socks for your dog. Then zip it up and its a bed they can sleep on and be comforted by your smell! They come in all sizes and the larget size is only about 50 bucks. You can take the cover off and clean it too...Anyone else ever hear of this? Sounds like a great idea for a dog bed! |

If the dirty socks are inside the bed, how will the dogs be able to swallow them??? |
Sounds like a really good idea. Going to google to see it! |
I dunno...I have this weird compulsion to WASH my dirty clothing...? And Sybil would be VERY disappointed by the lack of available dirty socks to play tug of war with...she might not sleep for weeks. According to my dogs the greatest dog bed ever is My bed... I think my rescue dog might enjoy what you're describing though. Kristine |
Yes! I agree! I have one in my Honda Element that I keep stuffed with old towels. So the dogs have a comfy bed and I always have a towel if needed. They are great! |
At my house that's called a laundry bag, and I made mine out of old sheets. Cost nothing. I did make one out of ticking once and that was less than $10 and it was really big. I just can't see paying for something so basic, but then people bought pet rocks too, so... Or maybe I'm just so cheap Shellie |
shellie, i'd just call that frugal. darn flood rearranged all my pet rocks. |
It is true that you could also do the same thing with pretty much any dog bed cover whose insides have worn out. But the fabric on these duvets is thicker than most dogbeds I've had and the patterns are cute. I would not be able to sew something comparable. |
I think I need to start a business with this. I could do it for half the price and still make a profit. Any takers? I'm totally serious. Maybe I'll make a few and put up the pics???? Thoughts? Shellie |
Shellie, you should! I can't sew a thing to save my life! If you can do it, yes, let's see. Can you use a canvas type material that is thicker than regular cotton? With a zipper? I think the super large size I was looking at was about 50 to 60 bucks...you can do that for less and make a profit too? I wasn't going to stuff with stinky stuff. I was going to use my "extra" socks..you know the ones that get eaten by the washing machine ghost and come out as a single Wear it a day and then stuff in...some old sweatshirts and towels...things I can wear for a day without getting TOO smelly... |
shelly I want an XL!!! I have taken twin sheets ,sewn them up 3 sides and put my old pillows in them for rescue dogs that have to be in the barn area If they eat them no biggy and you can bleach the pillows I would love a less expensive one of heavy duty material with a zipper |

Our old pillows made a nice cozy pad for the boxers and Charm. Sadly, it's showing it's wear. Shellie, your idea is exciting!!! I'd love one too. This could go EBay easily!!!! |
I am so on this- hoping for pics later today... Shellie |
