Ate an entire "everlasting treat" today...

Well, I thought I had the end all be all for toys to keep Rude busy and out of trouble. To be fair there was no destruction when I got home.... but he ate the entire everlasting treat!!!

Here is the treat with ingredients: http://www.google.com/products/catalog? ... ps-sellers

Do I have to worry about this getting lodged in his stomach or causing upset? Ugh!

My guys, including fosters, aren't quite that aggressive with them, or at least they've never eaten the cookie parts whole. As many of the refill cookies that we've gone through around here I can't recall any causing stomach upset or obstruction.

Rude Dog, though, is an entirely different story. I'd probably just watch him and make sure all is okay. Now, what CAN you give him that he won't swallow whole??? :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:
Peanut butter kongs is pretty much it! He doesn't "get" the kong wobbler, but I'm going to try some other puzzle feeders.

I want things for when we're gone, so rawhides and other things along those lines are out of the question. Though we did get some bacon rolls that last about 10 minutes and at least give him the inital distraction from destroying my house.
We've never had an everlasting treat last longer than a day either. On the plus side, no one has ever suffered any sort of stomach upset or anything from it either.

Ultimately we had to quit giving them out because the everlasting treat ball turned into the everlasting fight ball. :(
Are you saying he swallowed it whole? Well, if he as able to swallow it whole without choking 8O , I would only wory about some loose poop. What flavor did you give? It is completely digestible but whole is alot of solid stuff so he might have some distress...But it shi9uld dissolve and be digested... I think...maybe just check with the Vet to see if there is anything you should be watching for....We already know most of the signs...not pooping, trying to poop with nothing coming out...stiff legged walk...attempting to vimit with nothing coming out...I think he'll be okay but keep watch...
I don't know if he swallowed it whole, he had it while we were gone. Stupid in retrospect.

He seems totally normal, but I'll watch him like a hawk!
Hope Rudy is okay.

A suggestion for interactive puzzle feeder is the "Tornado" .

We have had it for a year now, not a mark on it. Howie paws at it when he wants to play/eat out of it. I put the white bones in the slots to make it more of a challenge. I only do that when I am home, I am afraid he will chew the plastic bones when I am not around. Otherwise, I just fill the little trays.

One note of caution... one day I saw howie chewing, like he was chewing bubblegum, turned out to be one little foot. :twitch: I quickly removed all the feet and tossed them in the garbage.

I really like this product, not cheap, but it lasts!

Keep us posted about Rudy,

peg & howie
Annie ate a whole one of those everlasting treats in just a few hours. I don't know if you remember but years ago I went to order more of the treat and accidentally ordered three of the holders! I sent them to the first people who contacted me on the forum :D
That's our Rude Man. Probably why I've never given such a treat to Jack......he'd race Rude Man to see who would finish first and steal the other's.
