Yet another P&G recall...

Don't forget P&G purchased Natura, which makes Evo, Innova, and California Natural. We switched as soon as they did, they are not a company to trust with your dog's health.
Hi I am new to this forum, I have been reading posts since May when we unexpectedly ended up with a sheepie (coconut) she has been on IAMS large breed smart puppy dog food since we got her. I saw the recall and i am uncertain if it applies to coconut's food as well or if I should switch her food just to be on the safe side. I am really concerned about this as (even though we weren't looking for a dog) she has become the love of our lives!!
thanks
Melissa
Melissa, check the site to see if your food is one of the recalls...If your dog is doing well on a food, and its not part of the recall, no reason to change it...If you want to change it, pick one and do it very veryn slowly. we use Orijen...never been recalled, made in their own plant in Canada and our dogs do well...My dog was just a pup in the 2006 recalls so did alot of research before deciding on this food...Don't panic...
Hi BeeB's Mom <waving :D>
There's another mfr. recalling dog food due to aflatoxin too. :(

There was info last month about retailers out east supposedly pulling specific Iams products off shelves.

I looked for the Price Chopper page mentioned and found it as a Google cached page... it's since been deleted. So if it had made it to the shelves for sale to the public, did it also make it into any dogs bowls at home? I feel the public should have been notified... but maybe each and every bag was accounted for.

What confuses me is that if dog food manufacturers have safety controls in place, what good are they if the product is able to leave their control and make it to the store shelves before they know there's a problem? http://www.iams.com/pet-health/dog-arti ... -guarantee
I checked the site and they have only the puppy not the large breed puppy...its scary to me because I was on here earlier today looking for info and experience with a female sheepies 1st heat (coconut went into heat last weekend and she is acting a little nutty) and noticed the Iams recall from last month. I went to their site then and it seemed to be mostly wet food. Later I was watching the news and they mentioned the puppy food being recalled! thanks so much for the advice this forum has the most amazing info! It is also very reasuring to read about other sheepdogs behaviors...lol...its really gotten me through some of the more stressfull moments :D
