But I will say...I get on line Thanksgiving day and got all the Black Friday deals I needed, free shipping to my house too...And today I was able to sleep without a crazy hour wake up call to get some deals!!!! No waiting on line, no trampling all over me, no fighting over parking spots...Just up with my cup of tea, in my jammies, and on line got all the same stuff! LOL...Why go to the store???? Who went shopping today???? |

Me. Online, as well Kristine |
I was out of tea and we needed eggs so around 5PM I went to Wal-Mart to see what kind of knuckleheads were also out spending their hard earned cash. Man how I love to go to Wal-Mart... Vance |
I did my shopping online, too. After a good night sleep I did the best I could think of: hopped with the kids in our car and took Bero to the dog park. The weather was gorgeous and we all had a lot of fun. |
Not me - my only Black Friday thing was my bank account stayed in the BLACK! Worked 12 hours, and same Saturday and Sunday. |
I had to exchange a shirt at the mall. At 11AM, i was 8 parking spaces form the mall. All of the early bird shoppers were sleeping. I did buy a generator at a camping store (for tailgating) on the way to the lake. No line there. And I realized when I got to the lake that I forgot a few things I will need for the game in the morning, so off to the store. Only three people in line ahead of me at 3 PM We give a lot of gift cards, so they can get what they want. And with the after Christmas sales.... |
Black Friday is a black hole as far as I'm concerned. We have a large group for Turkey Day every year - this year was small, only 30 people. Folks left by 11 p.m., so I got to bed. 1 a.m. I am pretty much a zombie every Black Friday. Laurie and Oscar |

I'm a big time on line shopper but this year no gift exchange......spent a bit of money this summer The few gifts I need to get have either been ordered (just received shipping notice this a.m.) or will pick up in town this coming week. I too HATE to shop. You couldn't get me near a shopping area Black Friday or this weekend......or any weekend until Christmas. If I have to go, I'd be there mid week at opening. The one place I know I have to go is a stand alone store, away from other stores, that should help. Holiday stuff pretty much on hold as DH fully expects his Orthopod doc to say, "Let's do the surgery tomorrow" so doesn't want the house or outside cluttered with decorations. Ha! I'd be surprised if surgery is scheduled before January or Feb. (this is to remove bone spurs that have grown around is artificial hip) |
Susan, just a thought...Don't be surprised if they schedule him for surgery during the holidays. My husband had back surgery one New Year's Eve! |
That would be fine, no wait he is a MAJOR Rose Parade fan! (that and New Years even is a Saturday ) His greatest fear is he'll miss the Met's HD performance of Siegfried in February. Apparently he's thinking recovery time comp to hip replacement.......won't be nearly the same. |

Carl has had so many hip surgeries, replacements etc but luckily no bone spurs. Keeping fingers crossed on that one. |
