Mady at large

So after three weeks of being uncrated at Amber's while we were away, we thought we'd stop crating Mady while we're at work. Today was her first day with both of us at work. We decided we would give her her usual kongs with food and peanut butter in her crate, but leave the crate door opened. Mady went in her crate fine as usual happy about the kongs. I left her eagerly licking her kongs and I don't think she even noticed the door was left open. Lunchtime, Kim went home as normal, she opened the door, and saw this very tentative head poking around the banister at the top of the stairs (Mady's crate is upstairs now) with a shy look saying "Mommy is that you? I'm out of my crate am I in trouble?"

I'm sure it probably looked something like this:

I'm also sure she didn't leave her open crate the whole morning until the front door opened, this was probably her morning:

Sometimes our little girl is too good!

Adorable!

Kristine
no such thing as too good :rimshot:
So cute!!! What a good girl!
What a sweet Mady. Sheepies are creatures of habit, so she probly slept the day away until she heard the door open and noticed her door was opened.
Good girl Mady! :hearts:

I started working from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and still come home for lunch, so she was only alone for 2.5 hours max. in the morning and again in the afternoon. As Amber predicted, she got into absolutely no trouble at all. I hope that I can keep up those hours. It is lovely getting to the dog park while it is still light out. However, it is 9:45 now and I am falling asleep. I wish I were a stay at home, um, I am not a mom but, err, a stay at home something or other! It was tough leaving Mady this morning.
oh!!!! you can do it. :-). today was the first day Dean left for work and I didn't get home until after he left. It was like a half hour. You would have thought Cambridge hadn't seen me in a year. He was so excited he made all 20 trips with me bringing groceries in and out and still didn't calm down enough to pee for a half hour after that!

don't tell, but sometimes the fur babies are more fun than the real ones. dogs are just happy to see us. my kids WANT a thousand things the moment they or I walk through the door.

tell Mady she is such a good girl :-))))
What a good Mady girl!

Chewie would be fine left loose, but because he loves his porch floor (and Riley needs to be gated)...he ends up out there too with the gate closed.
It doesn't really bother me, because I KNOW he just lays out there all the time anyway on my days off.

I have started reminding Todd a puppy will be joining the crew soon. We are so spoiled as our gang doesn't chew or get into anything.
Just yesterday I had to point out to him that leaving his leather gloves on the garden window seat in one of the dog beds is not going to be safe soon! The current dogs all just ignore them, in fact just lay on them.... :cheer:
Good girl Mady--you are a sweetheart! :hearts: :hearts:
:aww: Adorable - she feels safe in her crate. 8)
What a nice girl;
That's a grown up girl. :clappurple:

Joy is the first puppy I've had in a crate.
Now she is doing fine without it and she loves
laying at her favorite place in our livingroom.
However......
I need to learn here to run up to me and say hello 8O
All the other sheepies has been running and dancing,
eager to say hello. While Joy lays with here stomach up in the air
and she kindly give me a "hello grunt"......then
I start asking if she is there or I ask where she is
- then at the end she is all over me.
Ha Mady IS too good. Tiggy's out of the crate to find a cooler patch of tiles to sleep on.
