Although this was just for fun and practice, it is my first brag ever so I wanted to share with you all. Schubert entered a conformation puppy match in Columbus yesterday. He won Best Of Breed and 3rd in the Herding Group. I was so nervous, but Schubert did GREAT! He's a natural~ He stood like a solid rock while the judge examined him. I'm so proud of my baby boy~ I could not have done this without Nita, who did EVERYTHING from driving, grooming, coaching, and even photographing! I am so grateful. Marilyn was so supportive, coaching me the whole time. Vance, Jen, and Caitlyn cheered for us till the very end. Around the ring YAY!!! Mommy's so happy. What a goof! |

CONGRATULATIONS!!! Schubert's laid back attitude paid off in spades! He did SOOOOOO great! And let's face it, Joanna did a fantastic job too. This from someone who was pretty much talked into going. She now admits that she's hooked! I guarantee we'll see those two in a ring again and very soon! Incidentally, Caitlyn was in the ring last night too but she was convinced it was playtime and just would not behave. We learned we still have lots of work to do. Vance |
GREAT JOB.........................SCHUBERT~!!!!!!!! |
WHOOOOOOOOOOOOO SCHUBERT!!!! |

Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great job Schubert and Joanna Lisa Frankie and Mattie |
Well done Schubert |
That is just wonderful! You and Schubert look great ....so the coaches and helpers did their jobs well. Wonderful to win, but even more to have a fun time. And even better to have friends there to share it with! |
Nice job Schubert |
Congratulations Joanna and Schubert! You two were really in sync with each other Best of Breed and taking a Herding Group III the first time out: Special thanks to Chris Gaburri for lending a hand with her magic shears. It was greatly appreciated. Vance, Caitlin did great in puppy bitch class. I'll forward some of the photos I promised you to post in another thread. Great job, everyone! |

Way to go Schubert and Caitlyn both!!!!!!! (I'm a sucker for naughty ) Question: Are both families OESCA members? If not, why...? You're getting ready for the specialties next year, right? They have puppy sweepstakes. There's one in Ohio in April. Also just outside of Chicago, same month. Then one near Minneapolis in June, another near Milwaukee the end of July, and....tada! By the time both puppies are truly seasoned: our national specialty just outside of Milwaukee in September. You don't have to be OESCA members to do any of these things, but being a member does tend to keep you closer in the loop. Not that Marilyn and Nita and I and...others won't try to remind you. Very proud of both of you. Kristine |
We're not yet OESCA members. As I understand things, we'll need a couple sponsors. Vance |
Congrats! Schubert and Joanna! That's AWESOME!!! Cindy & Teddy |

With the membership, do we get any discounts on sheepie stuff??!! As much as I would like to enter the 2012 Nationals, I can't take a week off from clinic duties. Should I be looking for someone to show Schubert for us?? |
What? You can't take a week off from patching up stabbing and gunshot victims in the ER? Other doctors would take off to play golf in some exotic location, why can't you show Schubert??? I'm sure Madeline or Carol can help with the handling. |

Not the beach & not Disneyworld but I guarantee you that you will have tons of fun being around a ton of Old English from the wee little ones to the seasoned veteran class. Conformation, rally, obedience, herding & agility.........And what's this about having someone else or Madeline & Carol handle that little boy?????? You did a fantastic job the other night! Another thing to remember....if you can't take en entire week off, you can maybe schedule to be off work the days that Schubert would be shown in the Match (Chris is the judge), Sweeps & the dog class of conformation. |
Woot!!!!! Way to go Schub and Joanna. Kenny was rooting for ya from afar! Can't wait to hang out again. |
