he went from chubby puppy walk to sheepie walk . so proud!! AND he did a sheepie hop! first time too! I had food in my hand while sitting on the couch and he leapt, all four feet off the ground, over Cooper to land on my lap. Now if he could realize he CAN make it up onto the bed! And then remember to pay attention so he doesn't fall back off. he's def. a male. not really good with attention to detail. ( sorry guys! ) |

Sheepies remind me of Tigger from Winnie the Pooh when they do that four-legged hop. Mady does it around puppies and somehow manages to never land on the puppies. It is like they have springs in their feet. |
it's cause sheepies are very closely related to tiggers. |
and so fun fun fun fun fun! |
Okay so all Sheepies do the four legged hopping up and down. Ziggi does it when she is happy and I love it. My previous sheepie, Lizzy, never did the 4 legged hop. And here I thought Ziggi was special. Oh well, I'll still keep her even if she is a regular ol' sheepie |
sheepies are also very closely related to rabbits, someone thought it was funny to give me one colored like a sheepie. he's sittin next to me now. i must admit he is a clown. watch this for the hop. lol http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=fv ... _H2W0&NR=1 |
???? Was it supposed to be bunnies hopping? I was expecting to see a sheepie doing the hop. our mini poodle totally looks like a bunny when he runs. when we had our mastiff it looked like we had a deer chasing a bunny. too funny |
yes, i sincerely wish i had video of sheepie hops, but alas no. yes, was with a friend with mastiff at a park saturday and had forgotten how he stops everyone in their tracks at 1st site and he's such a gentle giant. he plays very well with their white ferret. my youngest daughter wanted to meet the mastiff and was overwhelmed at his size at 1st also, but soon had him on leash giving him treats and callin him a big baby. |
unfortunately our mastiff was not a gentle giant. she was IN our house and with our family, but was extremely over protective of me, and all the training in the world wasn't helping. we were worried that she would eventually hurt someone, and she would not let anyone come in our house either. anyway, I learned a LOT from that experience. about dogs, about BYBs and so much more. I still miss her every day, and it was missing her Velcro self that I looked into different dog types and found the OES. Now Cambridge is a much loved part of our family. |
Be careful what you wish for. Bunny hopping is a possible indication of hip dysplasia. |
ALL SHEEPIES DO THE HOP???!!! This is news to me and I am LOVING it! Nola does it when she plays with her toys! It's the cutest thing EVER and it just melts my heart every time!!! |
Cloud does the Hop and the Swagger. Makes us cry with laughter |
Violet, even at the age of 9 and with hd she still jumps with all 4 paws in the air at the same time when she gets excited. She does have the "hop" bu like I said she does have hd. When Violet was about 14 mts old, we adopted China at 8 wks. China is an Aussie Shepherd, anyway China started to imitate Violet's "sheepie hop". lol My friend, China's breeder stopped by one day and said "what the heck...China is hopping like a sheepie." Not to long after China was walking like a normal Aussie. The hop was cute while it lasted. |
