found a GREAT puppy pen

soooo happy! ordered an Iris heavy duty large puppy pen from Walmart. it is great!

very tall, I actually ordered two because you can add panels and configure how you want it. I used 7 panels indoors and it's a great sized space for when I can't keep both eyes on Cambridge. I found he likes to chew cords and such so need to keep eyes on him. you can start it out smaller if using for training

it's a great brown color, is heavy duty plastic so won't rust or corrode. very see through so
even though it is big, it doesn't feel that big

shipping is free if you do site to store

with the five panels I have left I can do a small outdoor pen, or sell on CL. one set would probably be enough for most pets. I just wanted space for food and water, large dog bed and then open floor space in case of accidents.

I HIGHLY recommend!!!! :-)

thanks for posting the link :-)

it is by far my favorite kennel/pen/fence we've ever had and we have had a LOT! it can
be used as a fence, which is great for really open houses like ours, because there is no limit to how many panels you can attach. I didn't even use screws for the conformation we put ours in, as each panel has 4 plastic pieces to hold it in place. for a straight fence type use or outside, you can reinforce with screws.

I know some people remarked the door bothered them, but I don't know how else they would have it and keep the integrity of the structure, it's not been an issue for us

again, I love how open it is. I've had Cambridge in 3 times today, I'm trying to get him acclimated in small amounts and take him out before any accidents or whining. He has not barked, fussed, or moaned at all. So, for the heck of it I put Cooper in with him this time and
they are just both chilled out sleeping.

I wish I could go back in time and buy this for every other dog I've trained or needed to keep enclosed for their safety or the integrity of my house!! :-)
okay, so after a few days of use, thought I would update

the door opening is a bit annoying, if you have to duck to go inside (I do to
get the food and water dishes)

I don't have to bend to get C in or out- out he comes just fine, and in I'm giving him a treat that he gets ONLY
when he goes into this space, so he is doing really well with that.

The way it's made is great. It's hard for them to find anything to bite or scratch on. Even if he stands up against it
he hasn't been able to move it.

so... again, highly recommended. esp. if you have a child who fits in the opening and you can
send in and out with the dishes!!! :-)
Ahhh wish i would have had this for first month or 2 with kenny. He's decent now and we just trap him near us with baby gate and pillows lol.
we can't use a baby gate. our entire house, except for bedrooms and bathrooms is one huge open area. had it built that way for our son. had them take out walls and round corners. we love the log home, one giant room feeling. but, makes it tough when trying to contain a dog.

we are also using instead of a kennel/crate when we are gone. which, believe it or not, has t happened yet. so far there has always been someone home with the puppy.

where we do have a wall, it's not straight across from cabinets either, so can't do a fence
type thing there either.

so, for all the shapes it can make, places it can go, and uses it can serve, I love it. will be keeping it for my next OES that is for sure!!
Yeah, and the price isn't awful. Not for what you get out of it....being a first time puppy owner, i could have used this a ton!!!
AND if you have bill me later with PayPal you can even use that method of payment... which may be good for first time dog owning expenses :D

who knew plastic could make me SO happy? :-)
I don't know if it's the pen, or how amazing Cambridge is, but he doesn't fuss at all in there.

now, mind you it's a big space. holds food, water, tons of toys, huge dog bed and room to spare.

he doesn't pee or poop in there, and gets a special treat he only gets when going in there

he will stay all night, he will stay for a couple hours at a time if I'm home and can't keep eyes on him. he literally will play with his toys, and then lays down and sleeps. usually I wake HIM up to get him out!

he is so good!!! (his brother is still available... 2 blue eyes, 13 weeks, almost potty trained!!)

anyway. love my puppy pen and I LOVE MY PUPPY!!!
We still use a pen for Dahlia when we aren't home and she is almost 11 months. She is safer in it and i don't have to worry about her gettnig into trouble. We have a different kind, but, same idea.... you can put 2 together. We have a big space for her and she is contained when we are not around.... She doesn't mind it at all. We did away with the crate at about 4 or 5 months bec/ she was outgrowing them anyway and was potty trained very early on and we moved to the pen.
She has free range when we are home including at night. She can go wherever she likes.
