Aggressive playfriend??

Sometimes when i ake bloo to the park there is a 3 year old pointeron called charlie. Hes so stupid and calm its unbelievable, but when i let bloo off lead to play he grabs him by the neck and pulls bloo down and clash jaws, bloo sometimes whimpers a bit then gets up and puts charlie down. Charlie will growl and grumble at bloo but them turn all sopyy and roll around by him.. is it because its his way of playing? Is he aggressive?? I dont know... bloo always stops and crys, and looks so sad, but he goes back formore thats the thing... he looks like hes having fun, there tails wagg. Im confused what do you think, should i keep him away from charlie? or let them play?

I dont want his to draw blood on bloo, im sure he wont but im a little worried..Maybe charlie gets too excited?? Hes a big pointer and big block head so very strong, bloo is gullible and silly :P
Breeder said a oes will back down to any other breed in a fight besides another oes... i dont want him getting hurt. :headbang:

Backing down is actually a good thing and usually defuses a situation. So be happy if your dog backs down.

I remember when I got my first dog that it was hard to tell whether the play was good or potentially dangerous.

What you are describing sounds like play but hard to know without being there. Mine play pretty rough with each other and other dogs. Some things to look for is that the roles should shift (not one dog down all the time) and they should break periodically and go back for more. One dog should not be completely dominating the other, insisting on playing when the other wants to get away. They can be loud and mouthy and it is still play. They sometimes squeal to let the other dog know it has gone too far. The dogs should break apart at that point on their own. Usually they stop, shake, and regroup. If your dog's tail is wagging and he's going back for more, that's a good sign that it is just play. That and the fact that your dog is not injured. If a dog wants to hurt the other, he will.

Is the other owner an experienced dog owner who seems sensible and trustworthy (not all are)? Perhaps ask him/her for input. You could also take a video and post it and we could tell you what we think. Another option is to find a behaviorist who could accompany you to the park and give you input on the different doggie behaviors.
If it helps, I've uploaded a bunch of pictures of Henry playing when he was a puppy. You can see them here. They make scary, fierce faces but you can also kind of tell that they are just having fun with each other. You can also see the back and forth -- they trade roles.

Also, here is a video of Henry when he was a puppy rough-housing with one of his favorite friends. You can compare this to how your dog and his friend are playing (although these two may be younger than yours is).
