I Won An Award! (At least by proxy!)
Why am I so excited? First, I've been part of this group for almost 5 years, and played on the recording. (Pan flute on "So Perewaitxe," singing and drumming on just about everything else.) AND - my original composition, Choro Samba Laranja is also on the CD (performed by myself on flute, Rosie Rion on cello, and Josh Dekaney on pandeiro.) So I can honestly say I am part of an award-winning project!  This is perfect timing, since we also have a concert coming up this Tuesday (Nov. 15). If you are in the Syracuse area, and want to come to the FREE concert, just come to the Setnor School of Music Tuesday evening - the show starts at 8:00. And for all you folks NOT in the area - it will be live streamed! Just go to this link http://vpa.syr.edu/events/samba-laranja-brazilian-ensemble. It's always an exciting concert. The feed goes live about half an hour before the performance. |
