Georgi is sick

We though she had something stuck in her throat as a puppy she eats the world. Got worse so we took her to the vet. She has caught Kennal cough ?. Our other dog was OK but got a call from Lori say that he has the same problem. So she took him down the vet. At 13 years of age ( old man river ) we were worried . In all these years owning dogs they never had this. Just wondered where they caught it from. As I have not been there for the last week or so & they have only been in the garden :(

So sorry to hear she's sick.

I've never experienced a pet with this but have heard about it. I hope she recovers soon. Let us know how she's doing.

Over the years we have had several bouts of this.
It is easily spread, basically because it's like a dog version of the common cold.
Most of the time it's just an annoyance to the dog and us, but you do need to make sure it doesn't lead to something worse.
The 1st time I heard it, I was sure she had a stick caught in her throat too. :?
Hope Georgi is better soon!

Get well soon!!!! Georgi!!

:ghug:
Hope Geogi feels better soon!

We have had a few bouts with kennel cough with fosters coming in

Only once did one of our dogs have issues with it with fluid in his lungs!
This doesn't typically happen :(

Basically, from my experience you will think they will never get better until day 11!
The coughing stops and all is well in the world! 8O
Poor Georgi, hope she feels better soon. One of the family boxers' coughed for a month. It was so hard to hear her go thru that. Big hugs to you both! :ghug:
The cough sounds alot worse then it is. With some meds, georgi should be fine quickly. the 13 year old might need stronger meds so if I were you I would let a vet take a look at him...

Kennel cough is easily spread. It can be caught at a grooming facility, dog park, Vet's office - anywhere other dogs are. Although it sounds horrific, it really sn't all that serious, with the exception of it finding its way into pnemonia...but sounds like you already saw the vet and on meds. don't worry. Lil georgie will be back to his old self soon!
Truly like a cold in that there are so many different strains.......some are bacteria when antibiotics work, some are virus. Healthy dogs do get over it........but oh it is so sad listening to those coughs. The same chest that gives us the deep bark gives us big coughs. Chicken soup for Georgi?
panda had a bad cough and fever....it wasnt kennel cough but some type of unknown bacterial infection...heavy dose of antibiotics....just make sure she continues to eat, drink and poop...feel better :ghug:
Our basset Tripper had kennel cough when we got him and it took a while before he was better. He still seemed to have problems years later with coughing up phlegm and I was never sure if there were some lingering affects. Our vet said no but we lived with him.
Get better soon Georgi
Thanks for the support :D . She is alot better & old man river had his first day without a cough as well :crossed:
Good reports on both of them! :clappurple: :clappurple:
