I found my next sheepie. Can anyone help with transp. relay?

Hi. :D

Well I finally found a nice 13 month old male OES to adopt :D . He's located about 30 miles west of Philadelphia. I was wondering if anyone would be willing to help in a relay to get him closer to the Canadian border. I live in Ottawa, Ontario and am only a few hours from the border.

I read in one of the posts that there is a picnic in that area on the 14th of May which I won't be able to attend. Unless I can have him transported before that weekend, it would be great if someone attending that picnic would be able to help out on their way back.

Here's a link to see him.

Thanks for your help and I hope that this works out. :)

Which border Uncle Pete? If you're going through Windsor, I could help in the relay.

Hi Jill. :)

Thanks for the reply. The closest to me is New York state, North of Syracuse, Watertown, Albany, Plattsburg, depending if people would take Highway 81, 87 north.

I wish I could help Pete, but my car is sitting in my driveway useless and needs a new engine.....
I am about 3 hours from the New York border, about 5 hours from the Michigan border, about 4.5 hours from PA, about 7 hours from OH. (for future reference)
Hi Jill. :)

Windsor, yes, after looking at the map, I should of mentioned that if Winston can be brought to Windsor, I'd also be able to pick him up there. I'd have to make an overnight stay at my brother's place in Toronto as the trip itself would be about 500 miles one way.

Whatever way and however people are willing to help would be greatly appreciated to be bring this little guy home so I'm open to anything.

Thanks also Willowsprite, I know you'd help if you could.

Thank you. :)

Pete,

I may regret this (ha ha ha!) . . . but . . . I live in the Detroit area and am going to the picnic and if Winston gets along with Beau & Belle (Karen & Beau are joining us for the trip) I'd feel honored to help with transport.

We're leaving for Philly on Friday and returning to Detroit on Sunday.

Three sheepies in the minivan!!

Hi Jil. :)

Thank you for the offer. Sounds great. From what Jen has told at the rescue about Winston is that he's a real sweetheart. I just hope its not too much mileage for him. I think from Philly to Detroit is about 600 miles and then from Detroit to Ottawa is another 500 miles.

I was wondering that if its ok with you, if a more direct route can be found to avoid Winston from going for such a long ride, we would take that one but if nothing else comes up, then I would be extremely grateful to have him get a ride with all of you.

I'll keep you posted and thanks again Jil, I really appreciate this and I'm sure Winston does too.

:clappurple: :clappurple: Congrats Uncle Pete!!!! Way to go Jil :D
Winston is lucky guy.
I understand completely, Uncle Pete.

All paws here are crossed . . . with one Jillie, a Belle, a FloofDog, an Otis and a Calvin, that's a lot of good luck heading Winston's way!

Just let me know.

Jil
Hi! I am so excited for you Uncle Pete and happy that Winston will soon be home with you. Please keep us all posted on his arrival. I think this is so great to help transport a rescue to a great new home. Makes me feel very happy :)
Uncle Pete we adopted an oes in Jan we live in Mass, she came from Louisiana. There is a transport group that brought her right to Mass for us along with many other dogs to other homes even into Canada. Here is the phone# of the woman 601 310 0457, email for her is dvg49@aol.com give her a call, it cost $150 , they were wonderful and took great care of my baby!! If not her she may know of other transports for you. Also try skyarc inc, they fly dogs that are rescued. Let me know if this helps, so happy you found a new pup!!
Hmm Ron, do you think maybe you can make Jan's post a sticky? I know a lot of people kind of dismiss a rescue opportunity if it's not within their physical driving range.
Hi,

I'm on the other side of the country (West Coast) but just wanted to comment ...it's a good idea to have that post regarding rescue pony/dog express as a sticky. I also wanted to cross my fingers, eyes and legs for it to be a happy ending for Uncle Pete. Lets all hope it turns out okay!!! Keep us posted!!

Hi.

Its been frustrating this past week trying to arrange tranporation and a flight for Winston and then finally being able to do it by car but the owner decided that it would be to long of a drive for him and has decided to put him back up for adoption.

Thanks to those who offered to help.

Uncle Pete.
Oh dear! So sorry to hear that Uncle Pete! I know you're disapointed!! :(
I'm so sorry Uncle Pete :(
Hang in there, something will work out for you.
