I plucked his ears only slightly Wednesday, then when I went to clean them Friday I noticed his left ear had some brown dishcharge, and a little scab. I haven't seen him shake his head, scratch his ears, and there was no odor. Saturday both dogs went to daycare so I could steam clean the carpets and they also spent the night there. I made an appt for Sunday with the vet just in case. Well his ear was really gunky today. So I took him to the vet knowing there was a pretty good chance that Frankie wouldn't even let the vet look in his ears. Well... NO PROBLEM!!! He sat right down and let the vet put the otoscope right in his ears. We decided to do the 14 day treatment all at once, in case Frankie wouldn't cooperate enought to let me do the drops for 2 weeks. He sat right there and let the vet put the meds in his ear and never flinched.. I've been working on this for awhile. So either my working with him has helped or he was so so tired from daycare that he just didn't care. The vet said the next time I bring him in to make sure he spends the day in daycare again before I bring him in.
HIs ear canal was red and he has a rash and some blood just inside of his ear. Poor Boy.

Poor Frankie. But what a good boy!
Oscar HATES to have his ears messed with, but he tolerates it, as he has no choice. (He has a mean momma, who is always cleaning or plucking.) At Oscar's first visit to the groomer, I told her that I would be responsible for all ear maintenance, and that is the way it has been ever since. I am the bad guy!
