He may be developing a tender tummy where something in his food is not agreeing with him.....ingredients to suspect: corn, wheat, soy, etc. Of course make sure he's not eating misc stuff........often outside. If feeding once a day, maybe try two. He might need a bedtime snack as some dogs (My MO) need to have something before bed or they are sick in the a.m. |
Exactly. ^^ If a dog is found otherwise healthy, it may just an empty stomach. http://www.vetinfo.com/causes-of-vomiti ... -dogs.html You might try giving him a treat or small amount of his normal food just before bedtime. |
Heart will throw up her water almost every time she drinks too fast...but she is wiered like that... If you are concerned, maybe on your next vet visit, you may want to mention it to your vet. |
Zoey AND Caitlyn can't hold their water if they drink too fast. We never had a problem with Bentley. We just monitor them when they drink and cut them off for a moment if they're drinking too fast. Vance |
My small mix dog used to throw up bile every morning. My vet advised me to start feeding him first thing in the am and right before bed at night. He has not had any episodes since. Good luck!!! |
Oscar had this issue as well. My vet had us add a feeding at bedtime, and it solved the problem immediately. Laurie and Oscar |
Our Hudson got to the point where he would throw up bile at four am and at four pm. We were feeding him twice a day, at six in the morning and six at night. This would happen as many as four or five times a week, and it was not only messy but obviously hard on him. Our vet said there is an operation that might help fix it permanently, but that is only something to consider as a last resort. He smiled and said, the no cost response is to try THREE meals a day instead. And then he didn't charge us for the visit. (I LOVE that man.) Anyway, Hudson's been on three a day ever since. And he's been great. We have breakfast around six, and dinner between four and five (just can't always be home earlier than that). And a third meal (second dinner as his daddy calls it) is around ten. We have not had an early morning incident since. Once in a very rare while if one of us doesn't get home early enough to feed the boys we may get a before first dinner barfing, but it's really rare. I think that back when he was doing it regularly the bile was irritating his stomach, which made him throw up, which made his whole system even more irritated and likely to throw up so it continued to spiral out of control. Now he can handle the bile in his tummy caused by a later meal once in a while because his tummy is otherwise in good shape. And Rudy is just delighted that he eats so many times a day (it's easier to keep them both the same). It's been a really easy fix. |

Sometimes its from an empty tummy..give him a cookie before bed so his tummy is not so empty...I think that might help. |
