Thanks Shari. I will contact the shelter this morning.
Spoke to the shelter this afternoon. Molley and Abbey have someone looking at them, but they have my contact information and will call me on Wednesday to let me know if they are still available. Very nice people.

Thanks for posting Shari!
Nice! Thanks Jen!
I live just down the street from this shelter, literally 5 minutes. I would be happy to check on their status daily. I could help drive them to meet rescue if needed. Let me know what you need.
I just went to see Abbey and Molly. They are not siblings, but came from the same house. They were abandoned in their home when the owner moved. A neighbor called animal control. They are both extremely calm and friendly :hearts: :hearts: they are also very thin (I can see all rib bones and spine  ). Molly is otherwise healthy. Abbey has a nose injury and is on meds for kennel cough.

I really want to get them out of there!!! The shelter is short on volunteers and wouldn't even let me see them outside of their cage unless I was serious about adopting.

The lady who was interested on Saturday changed her mind because she wanted them bathed before bringing them home, but they can't be bathed yet due to stitches from them being recently spayed. 8O

Again, I am willing to help in any way.
Thanks for going to see them.
That is an odd policy - you can't take them outside?

Do they have dog walkers? Our shelter has a crew of pre-screened people who volunteer and walk shelter dogs. It gets them out, works on leash training and is a great way for others to see an adoptable dog outside the shelter setting.
Now that we have a new shelter, they mostly get walked on the trail behind the shelter that runs along the river, but it still gets them out and about. I am on the list, and I truly enjoy it..but I don't have nearly enough free time as I'd like to do this.

It seems like it was a pretty simple program to set up - maybe you could convince them to do the same. :lmt:
Somebody actually just left them when they moved!!!!! That is so sad... It makes me so teary eyed to think that a human being could just leave and let 2 dogs fend for themselves. How horrible. These poor dogs.

Thanks for going to check on them. They should put more info on petfinder about them or something to gain interest in adopting them out. Maybe they are waiting until they get their stiches out etc.

Is there anyone from rescue who can help place them?
I can't believe someone would abandon their pets. How cruel!! It makes me so angry that anyone thinks so little of their pets to do something like this. Makes you wonder how well they were treated by their family prior to this. Thank you for checking on them.
I saw that Molley was no longer on petfinder..... I hope she found a furever home!!! :cheer:
