It looked like the Alleghaneys in southwest NY may have gotten some along with the Adirondack area in northeast NY. |
Sept/October snows happen regularly, but we still get surprised. Earliest I can remember is Denver, early September, attending a meeting in sandals only to find 4 inches of snow later in the day. (I'm ignorning August snows because at 10,000 feet, you'd expect it) We married end of Sept, went to Hawaii and came home 10 days later to nearly a foot of snow, Aloha-ha-ha. Here in NM, the earliest I can remember is 2nd Sunday of October, the last day of Balloon Fiesta....obviously all flights cancelled. My young trees did not take kindly to the snow. As a child I can remember too many Halloween nights trick-or-treating wearing snow boots and parkas over my costume, bummer. |
