I'd like to introduce Buckley, our new puppy. He's about 15 weeks old and we've had him for about a month and a half. This is the first puppy that my wife and I have had together. My wife grew up with a half OES, so only one of us is half-experienced with OESs. We're here to learn Buckley is super friendly and he's a great traveler. We've taken him boating twice at my mother-in-law's (see attached photo, complete with puppy life jacket), and we even took him for a 2 week road trip to Colorado. He really likes going for car rides. He's starting his second puppy class this week. He's not a big fan of his weekly baths (he grumbles a lot) but other than that most things are going well (except for a possible food sensitivity we're still trying to figure out...). He's even getting along fairly well with our new kitten. Anyway, I've been reading the forum for a few weeks so I figured we should join and say hi. |

Welcome from Atlanta, GA! What a cutie! |
Welcome! |
Welcome from WV. Buckley is such a darling baby sheepie AND in a lifejacket!!! The best of both!!! |
Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! We're in eastern PA. I've noticed a lot of new pups on here since I've been around. Is it more than usual? And yes, an OES with a tail The wife really wanted the tail. I initially was leaning toward the traditional route, as my only other dog was a Brittany with a docked tail. I have to admit the tail is kind of cute, though. However, I'm concerned for our coffee table contents as Buckley gets bigger... Here's the picture with him half on/half off his bed, and a couple of other pictures from when we first brought him home. He's about 2-3x bigger than this now... They grow up so fast! |
Buckley is adorable as are all sheepie puppies. Welcome from WI. |
Here comes trouble with a capital "B". Welcome from the Land of Lincoln! Laurie and Oscar |
Welcome Buckley! You are soooooooooooooooo adorable! |
Welcome to you and Buckley! He is a cutey pie! If you are willing to learn about OES,. you are in the right place! Asdk lots of questions and without fail, someone will be able to help you! Welcome |
Welcome Buckley and his parents. He is adorable I guess I am one of the few without a puppy even though Carley thinks she is still a puppy. This is a great place for anything OES related. |
OMG supercute! I'm swooning! Congratulations and welcome and more pictures please!! |
I love the adult Buckley - sized bed! I hope he doesn't turn out to be one of the hot OES who hates beds |
Haha, well Buckley gets overheated easily. He uses his bed sometimes, mostly to play on. His favorite spot is next to the air conditioner, and he likes sleeping with a fan on him. Maybe in the winter he'll use the bed more. Here he is yesterday after going for a walk in the rain: |
What a cutie. Don't expect him to use the bed even on the coldest winter nights! Mady sleeps on the coldest tiles she can find regardless of temperature. |
He is soooo cute! Love the half on bed sleeping pose. My Cooper used to do that. Lots of luck to you and your family. I'm from NE PA, nice to know other sheepies out here too! |
Took me forever to put 2 and 2 together . . . BUCKLEY IS BENSON'S BROTHER!!! I'm so happy to see one of her sibs on the board!! (I remembered his name from the video in groups of three.) AND we're not too terribly far away. We're near Syracuse, NY, and we still have lots of family in the Wilmington/Philadelphia area. I sense a playdate coming on! Congratulations! We'll have to keep in touch and compare notes! |
HI BENSON!!! I thought your pup looked familiar! She is adorable. Buckley would LOVE a reunion playdate with his sister. We're about an hour north of Philadelphia so let us know if you're in the neighborhood! Speaking of comparing notes... Has Benson learned to not dig in the dirt yet? Because Buckley learned the opposite of that right before I got home from work tonight. It's a good thing it was time for his weekly bath anyway |
What a cutie! Why is mud so fun? Cindy |
Thanks! And nobody knows... |
Welcome from Tennessee! Buckley is Adorable!! Congrats! |

If we are sitting around the yard, she'll put her nose to the ground and before we know it, she's nibbled a divot out of the grass. I don't know if she's hunting for grubs, or just loves mud on her nose. (I suspect it's the latter ) Her paws stay pretty clean, but she is definitely a little brown-noser! |
Welcome from Las Vegas. Such a cutie! Love all the pics! Yes, more puppies than usual. Don't be fooled, WE LOVE IT! Unfortunately we're getting puppy fever and want one! So that's why you have to post more pics so we can get our fix. We had met a littermate from the forum as well and it was great! |
OMG, cuteness overload, and family reunion, very strong emotions flying on this thread~ I can totally see the resemblance between Benson and Buckley. I love Buckley's bed! I wanna play on it with him! |
I have just got to stop looking, all these beautiful sheepies is making me waaaaay too broody! What a gorgeous boy, and I love to see them with a tail. My first 2 were docked, but my 3rd came complete with a glorious 'wagging stick', and yes, remove anything from a low surface before your happy boy sends it all flying. |
