Crazy R Farm And Kennels

Anybody ever heard of this kennel?
I will not provide the link as I am a little sickened by it but, I ran across it today!
They are selling CKC(?) registered Sheepadoodles and OES as well.
They put their Sheepadoodles under other dogs so you don't see that they have mix breeds as well.....
I am welcome to buy one for 800 dollars :cow: :cow:
Yes, I emailed to ask why
I guess this should be under Nita's post of irresposible breeders
The pups they have do not look good
Guess I just wanted to throw this out for anybody buying....
Be sure and ask questions of this breeder!

Unfortunately here in Ontario we have at least three people breeding Sheepadoodles.......and they charge $1500+ for them! Makes me ill....

And just so you know, Sheepadoodles absolutely cannot be registered with the CKC (Canadian Kennel Club)
I think they mean a different ckc, not canadian kennel club. There's another registry out there but I can't remember the name of it, they'll even register mutts.
C stands for Continental so CKC,is Continental Kennel Club.

Wow, the Canadian Kennel Club should get their lawyers all over that!

I agree!!!!
I wasn't thinking of the Canadian Kennel Club when I wrote that it is something here you see in ads all the time
They do register mix breeds and I wish people would catch onto that
I feel for people buying puppies these days. One can only hope that they do their research first.
Has anyone ever bought a puppy from them? I am looking for a sheepadoodle. I spoke with the owner and he seemed very nice and helpful. There is very positive feedback on this breeder on puppy find.com

Ok, I'll bite. Guest, why would you want to doodle a sheepdog?????? There is nothing to be gained by bastardizing a Sheepie or Poodle by making mutt puppies.
I'm reading this for the first time.
What can possibly be benefitted by mixing a sheepie and a doodle?
I mean sheepies don't really "shed"....
Their personalities are awesome...
They are the right size...

Absolutely correct! Sheepdogs are perfect, doodling them just makes poor dogs. Not to mention, from my experience, walking Mady in busy urban areas or big dog parks, she gets 1000x the attention any doodle gets!

Also, most of the doodles I'm familiar with, are fairly skittish dogs. Even a couple that I've known at the dog park since they were puppies, are still skittish and standoffish. Whereas Mady will give anyone hugs and attention if they approach her for them. Considering "breeders" around here are charging an arm and leg for "doodles" , there's not even a 500 bucks vs 2000 for a well-bred purebred incentive. It's like deciding to spend the same money to get a crummier dog.
Well, I wouldn't put a lot of trust in feed back on a web site that allows people to sell mixed breed dogs for outrageous prices
When you could go to pretty much any shelter and get the same type of dog for a lot less.
Paying a higher price for a dog without a health guarantee to me doesn't make sense but, that is just me.
There is no way this breeder can offer that when his response to me about hip xrays was
"My vet says that is a bunch of crap"
When I was a kid, a mixed breed was called a "mutt". And not to offend anyone, but mutts were found all over a normal neighborhood from dogs mating with other dogs with no real supervision, forget testing, etc...Today, they are mixing pure bred dogs with other pure bred dogs and calling them "designer" dogs...and again, no supervision in the breeding, no testing, no nothing...Difference, in my day, mutts ( for lack of a better term) were given away to friends and today, these "designer" dogs are costing thousands of dollars...The result is, still lots of dogs without testing, bred by people who have no clue what they're doing, no interest in helping the breed...But when will the public wake up to this???

So many shelter dogs out there, dogs in rescue, etc and we have these jerks breeding dogs and selling them for a fortune because they call them "designer"...Hello????
Diane, most of us on this forum will still agree: mixed breeds still are called "mutts".

Anyone who would take any stock in comments from Puppyfind is definitely looking in the wrong place for an honest review. The puppy sellers themselves can go in and delete anything they don't like so in reality, they are writing their own reviews about their animals. 8O

The really sad thing, besides bastardizing our fabulous OES breed, is that the stock these jerks breed are not exactly the cream of the crop. They are M O N E Y M A K E R S!!!! for these people! Get two fertile animals of unknown origin, toss them together and voila'! A not-conforming-to-any-standard, not-recognized-by-any-credible-registry, high-dollar mutt with questionable temperament, appearance, health standards and any other positive attributes a reputable OES breeder would strive to obtain. Scam artists, all of them!

Isn't it bad enough we have to clean up the messes of the unethical OES breeders? Now we have even more mixes to deal with. :headbang: Please! Run from this breeder and all the others producing these "mutts"! Your desire to own one of these mixes is what's fueling the fires of their production line. Please stop supporting them!!!
Nita you said it all!!! We called mixed breeds mongrels (mixed ancestry) I love mutts but would never pay some fool 1500 who did it on purpose

please don't get these people confused with crazy acres where we rescue dogs :cow:
If someone gave me a doodled sheepdog, sure, but I'm not spending $800, $1500 on some mongrel. No guarantee the mongrel won't have health problems; HD for example. What are the chances the dam and sire of this mixed blessing have been certified?

I asked and he said his vet said testing hips is a bunch of crap
ohhhh? 8O Would love to hear more from him.

He said I was wasting his time and he was right, I was wasting mine too so, I dropped it!
Not like I could convince him differently!
I got both of my sheepdogs from Crazy R Farm And Kennels, if it's the one in West Virginia. They are not an irresponsible breeder at all. When I saw the picture of the puppy I wanted online I called and asked about everything and the guy who owns it is very nice and easy to talk to. I drove all the way down to WV to pick up my puppy (I love roadtrips) and the farm he had the puppies at wasn't the cleanest, but I own a farm and no farm is perfect. He showed me all the different puppies he had then I finally got to see my puppy! The man who owns it gave my puppy an extra bath before I left with him along with the official AKC registration papers, the certified pedigree of both parents of the pup, and a couple papers about how to take care of my new oes pup. He also supplied a paper where it listed each vaccination the puppy has received. My overall experience with this place was amazing. My puppy is perfectly healthy and has all the paperwork I need for him. I would totally go back to this breeder when I get another puppy. He is very reasonable and very informative. When I mentioned to him that I rescued my other sheepie Oliver from a shelter where I live and traced his roots back to this kennel (which is why I went there in the first place) the man got very upset and asked me to send the registration number of Oliver so he knows not to sell another puppy to the person who had him before. He took everything seriously and seemed very responsible.

xoxo,
Melissa
