Now that she's got a bit more control, we decided to let her upstairs. She walked into my office, and immediately did this: Which very quickly became this: I think it might become her favorite spot. Unless it's the little window overlooking the side yard: I think my office will never be the same. |

Benson has a tail! I didn't know that...how did that come about that it wasn't docked?? And yes, she looks WAY too settled in up there! |
That 3rd picture makes it look like she's a big dog in a little doll house! Good thing you let her up there. We've found with Mady that not doing something can become ingrained. She has never been allowed in the basement (unfinished, too much dirt, chemicals etc). She never even tries. But because of that, she will refuse to go into anyone else's basement! We were staying overnight at Christmas at my sister-in-law's, in a guest room in her finished basement. I had to carry Mady down the stairs, she absolutely refused to go in the basement! This was touring my sister's new house, when we were dog-sitting 2 other sheepdogs, we all went into the basement, dogs included, except Mady: |
Awesome pictures and funny! we just got our pup (11 weeks tomorrow)....how old is Benson? |

We brought her home at 8 weeks, and we are still hopelessly in love (even with all the teethmarks up and down my arms!) She has a fantastic temperament, and this week especially we are seeing glimpses of the "adult" Benson peeking through. |
How big is she??? Looks like she's growing fast! |

And, yes, they do know how to make themselves right at home, don't they? Kristine She's a purebred. We searched long and hard for a good breeder who was willing to leave the tail intact upon request, and considered a search in Europe if we couldn't find one. She's got great bloodlines, her parents are certified for hips, elbows, and eyes, and we clicked with the breeder from the start. (Most of her pups are docked, by the way.) You take a bit of a risk doing this, since you have to choose your puppy in the first couple of days, but we are absolutely thrilled with her. She's gaining about 2 pounds a week on average, and she weighs in around 22 pounds at the moment. And yes, she officially owns the whole house now! |
How long will she fit in that window?? |
I would like to get comfy in that chair! it looks so comfortable! Your baby is so cute...Congrads! And Mady, don't feel so bad, my dogs don't do stairs either |
The one in the window is tooo cute. It looks like she read these comments and said " WHAT!! I have a tail!" lol so pretty. |
Cute pup and loved the one of her in the window, Butchy climbs up my chair to get to our bay window too. Loves looking out over his domain. Nice of you to have a lounge chair for her to rest after having to climb all those stairs. |
Diane, That chair is now Benson's. And we need to get together for a playdate before she gets too big. I could use a sheepie puppy fix. |
She looks like the Queen of the house in that chair! You guys are going to be completely owned by that beautiful girl. Keep the pictures coming! |
Awwwwe love the window seat! What a cutie! |
Hiiiiiiiii Benson!!!!!! Loooooooove that sweet poised look, "mommy, I like this chair. It's very comfy." smartest college goin' pup I tell ya!! |

I don't recall Mady having any problem going down into my basement the first time you came over and we went to the grooming room to put her on the table for a look at the grooming challenges that you were facing back then. Was it the scent of my guys in the basement that helped her overcome her reluctance? Then again I'm getting to be a senile old fart so what I remember could be pretty far removed from reality. Thanks and Cheers Carl |
Stunning - the window photo - sums up all that an OES is about. |
