Ironically, I am a nurse and I work in Labor/Delivery....and you would think I was pregnant the way I cannot contain my excitement and talk about our future baby all day at work. My sister-in-law thought we were adopting a child when I sent her an email telling her the news....it was so funny when she realized we were...he just will have 4 legs and a bit more hair than we do . I will admit...when I was pregnant with my 3 yo...I obsessed over baby things....it's a character trait (some may say a flaw...I say a quirk...hehe). My mother, however, was in shock and a bit...well relieved...when she found out her newest grandbaby was going to have 4 legs and not 2.... . Unless my hubby decides to join (versus sitting next to me everytime I am on the computer...lol)...he will be backseat driving on here with me for awhile . His name is Michael. We have 2 girls (14 and 3) who are, of course, THRILLED about our future family member. I have a 20 yr old cat, Minnie....can't say she is sharing the same enthusiasm. ...but she is old and always accepts all the changes that come her way. She could have a blog/post all of her own....she's is something else... and the current head of household (she is also sitting over my shoulder monitoring my post... ). Sorry for the length...but here is my official hello to you all! Wish there were more of you in Northwest Florida....or somewhere near , but this site will feel the need to talk to other OES owners and let you help us on our journey into ownership and beyond!! Well you've got the emoticons mastered... just kidding! Use them as you wish, it's kinda fun to see how everyone uses them. Welcome to the group and absolutely it's normal to be this excited and obsessive. We've all been there and know how you feel. Heck I even posted photos of our new puppy WHILE my wife was filling out the paperwork in the hotel where we met our breeder!!! Just remember, posting photos is a must. We live for puppy photos. We only let you join if your promise lots of pictures here.........just kidding of course....sorta. We love our fluffy dogs and share joy when another comes along. |
Hello Tiffany and welcome to the group from St. Louis. Waiting is so hard, but YouTube videos also helped me get my sheepie fix before we got Millie. Be sure to post updates and ask lots of questions. There are many things you could and probably should be doing before you pick up your baby. Will you be getting a boy or girl? When do you expect your new bundle of joy? |
Welcome Tiffany! Hello from Illinois! I look forward to seeing pictures of your new bundle of joy! How exciting! Cindy & Teddy |
Hahaha...I know I got crazy on the smilies....but I don't have any pics yet...so I couldn't stop myself! The plain ol' words seemed so boring ... ... I previewed it and almost removed them, then I though....nah...lol |
Here are a few youtube videos of our Mady, who turns two this November. I am VERY jealous of your upcoming puppy and I hope that you post many pictures and videos!! |
Hello Tiffany and lurking Michael, welcome from WV!!! So happy that you've joined us, from your post, you will fit in just fine I chuckled over your family thinking you were adopting!! Certain family and friends think we are crazed over Charm, and roll their eyes behind our backs!!! Imagine But here, pour it on, we can't get enough sheepie talk!!! Congratulations on your new baby!! When is your due date, boy or girl, any possible names? My obsession was names, mulling them over for two months, and still she wasn't officially named for two weeks after arrival Ditto for pictures, we Must have them |
Tiffany and Michael welcome to oes.org. There are a lot of sheepie owners in Florida, many on this site. I'm in Central Florida, about an hour south of Kennedy Space Center. There are a great group of people on this site and will be a big help for u when your sheepie pup comes home. |
Oh, and tell Michael to post on his own. I find it helpful sometimes to give the 'other' side to any of our family stories that my David might post. |
Welcome! I look forward to seeing your puppy! |
Hi and welcome to you both, Tiffany and Micheal and kids, from southern Minnesota! I bet you are excited.... Glad to see another nurse on here too - not babies for me; but ortho/neuro/trauma for 20 yrs, and now doing high tech home care. And I have familial lurkers too.....husband Todd and now my also-a-member daughter LeAnne who doesn't have time to post but relies on mom to keep her updated on everyone! ...and also have a cat who rules the house! |

Congratulations from WI. I know just how excited you are and making a fool of yourself with other people in your excitement is normal for people with oes. Love many dogs but there is something about this breed that really gets to your heart. |
WELCOME Tiffany and Michael from St. Louis! Can't wait to see all of your "baby" photos when he or she arrives. |
Welcome from Tennessee--Tiffany and Michael! Can't wait to see pictures of your new bundle of joy! |
G'day from Australia |
Welcome, Welcome from Texas!! |
Good morning from the UK too!!!! Lovely to see the your sheepie herding, my 3 had very strong herding instincts, especially my 2nd, who was the meekest, mildest and sweetest of them all. He just loved to herd our little boy (at the time) and his cousins all around the garden! |
Hello from Long Island!! Tiffany....I too am doing the same thing....looking, reading, petco trips...etc. I have found a wonderful breeder also and have just put a deposit on a puppy due in February. My family thinks I am totally nuts lol...but they are just as excited! I have wanted an OES for about 35 years and always knew that it was going to be a huge undertaking and responsibility. My kids are grown (23 and 25 still at home) so they are basically on their own .... its now time for my dream...cannot wait.... Keep me posted...cannot wait to hear how all is going. -Donna, From Long Island |
Hi everyone! I have a laptop again, so back to reading and posting (I promise). After my introduction to the group, I had my very convenient laptop die on me . I still had a computer, but sitting in a room by myself is not near as fun or convenient with 2 kiddos. I am getting absolutely goofy over the anticipation over my puppy's arrival! They were due yesterday, so its almost impossible to sit still!! I'll be seeking advice for the complete name soon (I have the beginning...but conflicted over the entire registered name), so more on that to come. Until then..... Tiffany |
hello hello from a brand new OES owner in NC! We visit Florida quite often, as my son like to go to "rooms" as he calls them our next trip down is to the Ginn Resort in Orlando in April anyway- so excited waiting for the imminent arrival of your new fur baby! congrats!! |
