I've been plagued with getting trojan viruses and Malware by clicking on these blogs. I think it's mostly from the DIY and Decorating blogs. Is there a way to enjoy blogs and not pick up Malware and computer viruses? Or to surf the internet more safely? I was told by a microsoft tech that blogs that have a lot of advertising can give you malware. I've had several different expensive and free anti-virus programs and none seem to be too great. I currently have microsoft essentials because at least if you have a problem they fix it for free. The most recent viruses removed were Trojan downloaders and Java exploit, or something like that. I'm trying to make it a distant memory. |

I use Firefox and Avast virus protection. Firefox has more security features standard and then you can ad this like ad blockers and one of my favorites called Web of Trust. This will actually warn you if a site has been deemed not trustworthy. And it's all free!!! Avast has a free version but I bought the full version for all three of my computers. I've not had any issues since getting Avast. As a backup I also have AVG Free. Some say this is overkill, but like I said, I've not had any issues. Vance |

I run Firefox and have the full security package from Trend Micro - for all 3 computers here. It also notifies me of sites that are suspicious or have had issues in the past, and is frequently updated. My IT brother in law says there are several companies who are good, offering this service. |
