Is this the same line dancing as in the 1980s movie "Urban Cowboy" with John Travolta? |
I am really terrible at it. My grown kids all are fabulous, so they didn't get that (lack of) ability from me. I do love watching it though. We have had several friends and family weddings this summer, and they always are a big hit. |
Line dancing is very popular here in Nashville! I too am not really great at it--but love to watch it! At the Wildhorse Saloon downtown there is line dancing most every night. Sometimes there will be 200 to 300 people in sync! |
thanks for replying...my favourite dance at the moment is "Burlesque" its out of the Cher film. Dont be misled though its demonstrated on youtube and I look nothing like the ladies on there. not sure about the John Travolta film dont think I have seen it. ps I am on youtube though our silly teacher videoed us doing "Buffalo Tails"...... |

oh that film looks good, might have to look for a copy. will try and do a link to us dancing, but need to get ready for work....so laters x |
I started doing line dancing when I was in Junior High.(1968is) lol I went to a Catholic School and we had our dances in the hallway, if you could imagine that. We would line up down one side of the hall and line dance to the other side. lol I hadn't thought of that in years. Anyway, my hubby and I took line dancing together a few years ago, and he was really good at it. I'm a good dancer, but for some reason really struggled through the line dancing. At weddings, I'm the one trying to catch on, but staying out of everyone elses way. lol I've done well in ballet, tap and belly dancing, but for some reason line dancing is my one difficult one. |
The only dancing I do is the "Carrot Dance" with the dogs! Thought I would post since you said you were going to check to see if anybody responds! |
thank you for replying...xxx on this video I am dancing near the window, got on a short sleeved brown top, black jeans and next to a lady with a white t. shirt on....and at the very start of the dance I dont do the turn so I look as if I have gone wrong but it was the rest of the class not me... |

I like it but am not so good(in fact really bad). I'd like to try it again someday because it looks really cool. |
Sue that's great! I can't do anything like this. I just cannot remember the moves, and it drives me CRAAAAAAAAZYYYYYY!!! |
Nice Sue! Yes, that's exactly what I can't do! |
Good Job!! |

Great Video Sue! I often wondered why "line dancers" never smile or look like they're having fun. |
we cant smile we are trying to remember the steps..... |
I need to video my kids and their friends line dancing...they smile, laugh and REALLY get into it!! Super entertaining to watch. Too bad we just finished up all their friends' wedding dances for this year. Me - I'd be the serious one counting and trying to keep it all straight too!! |
I think we were all so serious as we knew we were being filmed |
