http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sfc/pet/2591779865.html Quote: Old English Sheepdog w blue eyes Stolen Th 1 am on Hayes (hayes valley) Date: 2011-09-10, 10:17AM PDT Reply to: comm-fyx62-2591779865@craigslist.org 5 1/2 year old Old English Sheepdog. Female, spayed. She is a registered service dog, is licensed in SF, her collar was removed Both eyes very bright blue Puppy cut with back paws being a bit scruffy 73 lbs, no tail White head, knickers, belly, chest, otherwise medium gray wavy shaggy Severe allergies and dermatitis: NEEDS MEDS SEVERE ALLERGIES & SKIN ISSUES: needs meds asap Extremely well-behaved, trained and desperately missed. Please help me find her! Pass this along, repost, print up and tape wherever you happen to be. Old English Sheepdogs hardly ever have both eyes blue (very rare trait, somewhat of a fault according to standard). I have never seen another, personally. Fellow who took her reported as being tallish, Af/Am man with green eyes, and caramel complexion. Chatty, flirty, but with a fishy story about how he got his black and tan German Shepherd from Texas. Tattoos on forearms, wristcuffs at least, reportedly seen at Place Pigalle, in Marlena's, then at approx 1 am Thurs, running down Hayes St towards Van Ness with my dog (and his German Shepherd)on leash. He had replaced Z's collar (left on a bench outside Marlena's, neatly buckled, still attached to the no-scratch cone, which he had also taken the time to tie the gauze neatly). The 'new' collar was black with studs/spikes. Later on he was seen in NoPa, on Central walking North, again with same (?) dog. She is very loved and I just want her back. Reward. Lots of karma either way, so if that guy is reading this, know that this will come back to you ten-fold and then some. No hate, no drama, just return her to me as quickly as possible. Perhaps a hasty, drunk decision? A buddy for your dog? I'm trying to see this in some way that makes sense, but I'm in shock. Numb, sad, posting everything I know about why she's gone everywhere I can and talking to alll the people I know and word is spreading. And you have a blue-eyed, high-maintenance, itchy, scratchy, chewing holes into herself dog that stands out like a glow stick on moonless night. If you see a blue-eyed sheepdog scratching a lot, that's my dog; please do the right thing. We're both lost right now. And we're both missing. Stealing my only "family" will not benefit you. Z and I belong to each other, I taught her how to be calm and trust and listen. And she is patient, and funny, and knows she has a job to do and does it. 2 numbers to call if you have info or if you have Zu, either one will get to me asap (can't talk while working), both are equally viable. Police report filed, etc, but would rather not have to go that way if there's a simpler way... we all know they're too busy, doing something to do just what's right. No offense intended. So, call now, tweet a link to this, put up a flyer, ask your friends, it all matters, right. now. is. the. right. time. 415.609.4084 or 415.595.4127 Thank you for reading, I appreciate any help with finding my beloved Zu. Have a beautiful day. it's NOT ok to contact this poster with services or other commercial interests |

Odd... sounds like the dog was tied outside of pigalle, or it may just be the way I was reading this. Or it was tied outside somewhere. Why would the collar be rebuckled and the gauze re-tied? Maybe slipped out? Another odd thing... no name given in first half.... can't talk at work... police are busy? All very odd. |
Wow - will definitely repost this to my bay area friends |

I agree- If it's a service dog, it should be with the owner at all times unless it was stolen from her home. either way, I hope he makes it back home to its owner. Usually the SF police dept is responsive. Once a violin was stolen and it was all over the news - the girl end up getting her violin back. |
